Probably a wise move as he's currently got the (sole) central striker's shirt. Disappear for a couple of weeks and suddenly someone else has nabbed your place!
Apparently Alassana turned down the chance to represent Gambia for the first time in order to ensure he'd be available for notts next month.

I’ll be honest, I’d much rather him (and Jones) be playing for us.
Jones was away with Malta when Stags battered us and felt like the turn of our form.
I’m not saying that had he played the result would have been different, meaning our confidence would have skyrocketed meaning LW would have turned down Swansea meaning we’d have won the league….Or am I?!
I follow International football closely, even at lower levels.
Most of Malta's previous managers including this one have had one ambition home & away and that is to keep the score down therefore no attacking intent whatsoever. It has failed miserably.
I am sure JJ is proud to wear the 'Cross' but unfortunatly JJ is too good for them unless they show some sort of attacking intent.
Technically they do posess some decent players who play in European football as well as JJ.
