Played for Swindon Town against us as player manager in 1993 , played as a sweeper at the back .

He was majestic , pinging the ball 50 yards straight to feet all afternoon , never gave the ball away once .

Great shout Animal and I was actually at that game but alas the memory takes a bit of prompting these days , there will be a lot more class acts I will have missed but that is why I started the thread, what it does show is that over the years there has actually been some world class players run out on our hallowed turf .

But the performance that sticks in my mind was Mark Hateley playing for Portsmouth.
He wer like Thor - but with black hair.
Incredible performance.
