Earlier in the season Evans in an interview commented on the previous contract issues, making it very clear the club know they got some things wrong and he said that won't happen again. I hope he is correct, because we clearly haven't made the most of the limited assets we have had over the last 10+ years

It's the normal conversation on this board & between Millers fans, players leaving the club for pennies or nothing.
This has happened because we had no one on the board with football knowledge & how to negotiate the best price for a player.
So the blame starts at the top with Tony Stewart, who should have had someone in the club who would have got the best outcome for the Millers.
He has Paul Douglas sorting contracts out etc I believe, but Douglas is not football minded, so in today's world he is a dinosaur who needs to leave the club, then get someone who knows the real world of football.
A breath of fresh air is needed at the club.

I'm saying we let this this losing out on big money for our assets happen way too often. Seemingly more often than other clubs.

Its not how that particular situation was handled, its how the situation was allowed to occur in the first place. Again.

To quote the much used phrase. This wouldn't have happened at Peterboro. And yes you can say where has it got them, they are still in L1, but many many times do you see lower league clubs sell their stars for big money and try and build with the proceeds, rather than us who:
    i) let their stars run down their contracts and leave for nothing and then moan they haven't got any money and can't afford to buy decent players; or
ii) give them away cheap and justify it with we would have got nothing in 6 months time or they were free so selling for 100k is a good profit when any other club woudl have sold them for 3m
iii) sell cheap even when a year or more left of their contract and think getting 1m is wonderful when any other club would have sold them for 3 times that and the buying club fans think they have bargain of the season and sells them for much more a year later.

Or to put it another way, compared to that, how often have we sold someone and thought wow, we've diddled someone there they are nowhere near worth that much. We've ripped them off.

Peterborough have a trading deficit of £20m and haven't achieved anything like Rotherham have in the last 10 years. It's a basket case of a club.

The business model here has been far better.

Currently, a lot to be concerned about here though. I blame the Warne haters

Well he's certainly made sure we won't now be selling assets for less than their market value by recruiting players that no-one will want.
    Clever strategy 🫣.

It will be interesting to see what we do with young Duncan, the fact he is on a kids contract and we are not hearing that we have offered him a full time playing contract makes you think we will screw that up as well.

Doesn't matter M8. Because of his age. Even a full contract doesn't tie him to the club.

Doesn't matter how many times you say it M8, folk will always bring Peterborough in to it because they sold a handful of players for a few million. They forget the 4-5 year contracts they offer and the failed players that have to be paid up.

    Let's be straight.

The amount of players we've acquired that follow the value for money mantra spouted constantly is 2 in 20. And even I'm struggling to think of 2 in 20.
That is the root of our demise.

Its PD, RS department and it's rotting the club from the inside. Look at the MASSIVE budget busting wastes of money we've had just in the strikers department.

The failure of Nombe was the last straw for me. I'm sick of seeing Rotherham United fail so badly where other clubs don't seem to.

Sooner Tony Stewarts exclusive gentlemans club is broken up the better
