MillersMad Matchthread - Barnsley v The Millers

Could this be the last sight of Evans as our manager tonight?
If we lose then the vast majority of our supporters get their way and he should go. That’s if you look at the many polls that ran after last Saturday’s debacle.
I know we can say it was only a cup game and we never do well in the cup. But I think last week was just a continuation of dire performance after dire performance. 2 of our league wins came against 10 men!

Tonight is our nearest derby and we must show up. It’s live on sky I believe so it’ll be on in more than one pub in the world. If we embarrass ourselves tonight then it’s season over regardless of how many players we sign in the summer.

I can’t remember the last time I felt so pessimistic about my team, my club and my hobby.

I truly hope for the best tonight and maybe you guys can spend some cheer before an unlikely away win.

    Enjoy the match everyone

    COME ON YOU REDS!!!!

Nice summing up frogmiller. Like you I'm hoping, maybe against hope we salvage something tonight to kick off our season. I will not hold my breath.
PS I'm there with my Barnsley supporting brother-in-law.

After much thought have paid me £15.00 for a day pass to watch tonite. Cant say I'm hopeful but just have to see where we go again.

My first trip to Oakwell was 1969 and I went on me Lambretta LD125 , we lost an when I got to me scooter after the bstaaards had tipped it over and smashed me flyscreen with RUFC on

I suspect that if we dont deliver tonite Evans will see more anger and hopefully boooger off

Having said that still want is to to turn em over but 🤔🤔

Listen you Millers it's a derby game and form goes out of the window plus we aren't that great at Oakwell either , it doesn't take too much for our fans to get on the players backs and with one home win since February it's sometimes justified .

What I will say is that Oakwell can be a very quiet stadium in this league given some of the away followings we see but tonight will be different .

Hopefully we will respond with the better atmosphere .

Let's hope for a good game not spoilt by the officials and may the best team on the night take the points .

It's been reported that Wilkes is "fatigued". Poor bloke. I'm laughing at this. But not in a good way. Now we have zero goal threat

Looks like 4-3-3 but with no width or pace.
    Hope McGuckin does well.
Does anybody else think Humphreys would be a better bet than Odoffin as a defensive midfielder (he's on the bench tonight).

Watching on sky sports + with McGuckin starting. At last one of Odoffin or Teihi in midfield. UTM

Difficult to feel much enthusiasm for this, even though it's a derby.

Just watched Stevie get his excuses in nice n early.

Fear this could be a turn off at half time game.
