Sky Television rights agreed by all EFL clubs.
March and April still to come.
    Money, money, money.

It’s not just our board, it’s every clubs’ board in the EFL. They all agreed to this.

Does take the pyss though. The Wigan game on the 23rd of this month will be the first 3 o’clock Saturday home kickoff since September 7th. That’s not right.

You're just an old fashioned traditionalist Jules. Get with the modern world and throw off the shackles of Saturday afternoon kick offs with all the routines and rituals developed over decades.

Those of us "on trend" and at the "cutting edge" of developments have known "flexibility of KO's" is the way forward to suit modern viewing preferences. I would guess only 4 or 5 KO's on Saturdays at 3 pm at Oakwell will remain this season once final schedules are announced by Sky. Saturday 3pm's will become as rare as rocking horse sh1t. Control of fixture dates/ KO times by Sky is what we have signed up to.

Don't forget the Sky Brucie Bonus this coming Saturday. In view of the International Break with the Premiership and Championship clubs not playing the ban on Saturday 3pm televised fixtures is lifted in such circumstances so the Cambridge-v-Barnsley game can be watched live on Sky+ this coming Saturday afternoon.

Although the new SKY SPORTS deal has significantly altered kick off times for all EFL clubs leaving their supporters inconvenienced, what are the alternatives for lower league clubs like us?

We've been officially given a run down on the clubs financial situation during the last fans forum. Our main source of income is the TV deal.

Years ago it was season tickets sales and matchday gate receipts which determined the football food chain. As this is clearly not the case anymore, the supporters financial contribution to clubs has now become secondary, and to be fair, it's been the case for the last 25/30 years once SKYSPORTS had established itself within the game.

    What will ever stop this?

As we know, money talks in business. I guess people will have to adapt unfortunately. T'other week Bournemouth laiked Newcastle. In their total disregard for the supporters, they moved the Kick Off time to 12.30pm. I think that says it all. T0ssp0ts

When the news of this deal was made public in the summer I started a thread on how I thought that this could be a slow death for some of the lower league clubs , we have been sold down the river for 20 pieces of silver , with the constant disruption of kick off times and the inconvenience of the fans who attend the matches then Sky will inevitably tempt people from the terraces to the armchair instead. Fans will not renew season tickets when they can no longer attend games which have been moved due to work , travel and other problems, we have matches being moved to friday , saturday and monday evenings which for some people prevents them from attending as opposed to having 3 pm saturday kick offs where everyone knows what they are buying into before a ball is kicked . If we were to have a straw pole on this forum to how many actually attend matches or how many view from the armchair it will probably show that the armchair will win and the introduction of this deal will encourage more to stop attending and take the front room firestick option , eventually clubs who only attract meagre gates will go under or have to go down the pyramid whilst the elite will continue to cream the big bucks, there are waiting lists for season tickets in the top flight and if you give up your seat there is someone waiting to take your place but alas this is totally opposite further down the food chain , there is no doubt about it , it might not happen in my time but eventually the elite will get what they want and have their own elite private club of a super league and a premier league where they have all the cake to share between them and the rest will disappear , it is what the TV companies and the top clubs are driving towards and eventually they will get what they want.

Spot on Shad I totally agree, but there is an even wider picture coming when this eventually happens?
When all the other clubs go bust or slide down the pyramid, supporters of the elite will start coming to watch them? The supporters who cannot get tickets for an elite club will get sick of being on the waiting list and the supporters who are sick of seeing a super league game consisting of the same teams week in week out will eventually get bored and yearn for games where they play a Barnsley or Burton in a cup match! I know I would if we played Leeds or Wednesday every week!
It’s already a very, very costly affair for Arsenal, Liverpool, United and City fans, imagine the cost of travelling to Munich, Madrid and Barcelona every season!
Football itself and Football clubs are on a tricky path to TOTAL destruction because of pure greed, what makes it popular in this country especially is the fact that Barnsley and Bournemouth among others can reach the top league, when that goes interest goes and when interest goes, money dries up…….TOTAL destruction!
