    Congratulations --------

to the Clarets Under 18 team who today, with a 5-1 victory at Watford, became U18 Professional Development League North Champions for 2024/25.
Congratulations to all concerned and let's hope that the Category 1 status will also be achieved.

Just to add, for sinkov, it was good to see a refugee from the Black Hole come off the bench and score the winner for you today.

Can Scott's lads add to the pleasure on Monday? Fingers crossed.

Cheers Sub, it was good to see indeed, he hasn't had much joy since he arrived but he must be a good lad, he got absolutely mobbed by his team mates after it hit the back of the net, he's clearly well liked in the dressing room. Also good to see our Burnley loanee, young Jack McEvilly awarded MoM as well.

Lovely to read that, sinkov, it is a real tough world for anyone who has been through the Academies, particularly for those who have felt rejection. Those who really want to play will always find somewhere to play at a decent level, the other will just be lost to the game and there are some good players who have just given up at too young an age ---sadly.

Ashington have two games left and play Heaton Stannington at home at 12 o'clock on Monday. There is one relegation place left with 7 teams trying to avoid it. Both us and Stan need 1 point to avoid that place ----I wonder what the result may be on Monday?
Ken and I will be there and then we are going to Bradford for the final game next Saturday to round off what has been a very hard season with three managers involved and a Board and Committee who don't seem to have much interest, which is a shame.

Chris Casper was out and about round the village late yesterday afternoon celebrating the under 18 win, he had his track suit on and more than likely come straight back from Watford

Is that his lad who's currently in goal for Bamber Bridge ?

No, he is the Academy manager these days and will celebrate his 50th birthday one week tomorrow. It is his son, Charlie, who is at Bamber Bridge on loan, having escaped from the Black Hole ---temporarily.
