What to do before a match in Newcastle City?

I'm going to the f*cking Ipswich game

Do you have any rituals regarding places / pubs / bars / squares / restaurants / other places that you can recommend visiting in the hours up to the match starting?

Looking forward to this one, hopefully we'll be one step closer to the Champions League. Hope you're all doing great in here by the way - and still keeping the forum alive and well. I'm still following!

    Excellent stuff-nice one, Hughie.

Panis is a fantastic Italian on High Bridge and almost opposite the Bacchus which has some of the best beer in Newcastle.

Depending on where you're staying, you could go for a wander in Jesmond Dene in the morning or along the Quayside (worth a visit to the Baltic just over the Millennium Bridge for the viewing platform alone).

Have you been to Newcastle before?

Great to see you back on, btw.

I usually swin up from tyne mouth smothered in goose fat, fist fight the Tyne Bridge Troll bare knuckle gypo style before hopscotching my way up to Greys Monument singing 'The Blyden Races' at the top of my lungs!

    That's how I roll!

    hahaha

Raga, man, that's so pre-Covid.Tch. The troll caught it and, whilst he survived, he's a shadow of his former self. Spends most of his time in a cave in Cullercoats Bay muttering to himself about how he could have beaten you if it wasn't for that bloody goose fat which didn't allow him to get a proper grip.

It's been a while since he and I tangle in the square circle. Last time we were interrupted by some toothless trackie clad scrunchie hair Mackem skank looking for a nicer place to raise her 6 mutant off-spring than Weir side. Obviously Trollie and I were over come with the stench.

Troll or not, Charva is still a Geordie and no one of our constitution can bare that level of assault on the senses. We legged it, called the Fuzz to deal with the interloper.

After a few pints down and bit of a boogie down 'Pop World' I offered him a few quid for his retirement from the Northumbria coast. A legendary pugilist and defender of the bridge. Sadly we're still waiting for the Woke Police force to get the go ahead to evict the scrunchie heeded munter & her puddle drinking shoplifting off-spring from beneath the bridge before we can turn it into a Blood Sport style Kumite venue sponsored by JCVD's mullet from the completely realistic 1993 classic Hard Target.

We have Tong Po, Bolo Yeung, Frank Deux signed up for the inaugural event and still in talks with Tyler Durden's people.

Aye, in all seriousness a Pint in the Strawberry is a bit of a rights of passage. My grandad took from when I could only get a coke to slying me a half when I was 14. Fond memories.

It depends where I'm staying when I'm back home. My family all moved to the Lake District so I have to get a hotel.

I tend to go to Shearers before the game, then afterwards it is either Shearers if there is a later kick off (on a sat or sun) or the Strawberry if late/midweek game to catch the post match interviews.
