    Longstaff to Leeds

Lots of reports that Leeds are going to make Longstaff one of their main targets when the come up.

I think this would be a good move for all involved to be honest.

Whilst I like Longstaff and will be sad to see him go, I think next season Miley will take his place in who is brought on in midfield.

He'll be pure profit for PSR and he deserves to be playing regularly.

Equally, I wouldn't be devestated if we kept him.

Makes sense. Great for all parties.

We'd get pure profit, Sean get's to play all the time & Leeds get a quality, seasoned Premier League Professional.

If he goes, he goes with our blessing.

We do need him to move on. For rotation, he's just not up to the levels of the first team 3. Miley is levels above him, Willock is the lowest level of quality we can afford to have in the squad to rotate in.

It's about time he moved on. Sad to see us lose one of our own. However, we're a top 4 club and there can't be any room for sentiment at that level.

However, there is rumblings starting that the club will listen to offers for Willock too.

So it's gonna be an heroic effort from Mitchell in the summer to bring in the quality additions before we loss any of the current squad playersto boot.

    Aye, huge Summer for Mitchell.

I've been thinking the same in terms of Willock being the minimum bar we need to set and, sadly, I think Longstaff is below that bar.

Thing is, though, PSR means we won't be able to make all the changes we need this Summer. Every supporter can look at their team's squad and point out players who need replacing. We know Longstaff can do a job in the PL so, like Jammy, I wouldn't be gutted if he didn't leave. If I had one wish regarding Longstaff, it would be that he was better rather than that he would leave.

Me too. I'd prefer to keep the local lads. Sadly he's just not up to the levels we need.

With the sale of Kelly going through as Juve have picked up points and playing much better, back up to 4th in Seria A. The signing is triggered once they qualify for any European competition, which they are looking good to do so Under Igor Tudor. We're gonna trouser ?20m in total.
Longstaff would go for around the same ?20m-?25m is the going rate for a quality prem experienced player at his age.
Willock is he goes should be around ?25m too.

We're in good shape in PSR terms. It's whether Mitchell can get the quality in that we need in the windows, especially when we have this inconvenience of the World Club nothing tournament interfering with the transfer window.

I think some of our supporters have a tendency to want rid of any player who is not one of the best 11 in the squad. There will always be ?the weakest? player in the squad no matter who we sign in future.
I agree that Longstaff and Wilson are not good enough any more for us and thats as much testament to the overall improvement in the squad than any criticism of them. Willock, Im not so sure. I think he can and will find form again. Of course if a big bid came in then youd need to consider it (the same for most players) but, for me, its all important whos coming in to replace him? To lose him and not replace him with better/younger would be a mistake.

It's a clear case of bringing people in before we ship people out. We can't go into the new season weaker than we are currently. Certainly not.

We have to be stronger and with depth. It's unfair to the lads to expect them to play that many games.

Last season when we played the same 11 for 7 matches straight was a disgrace. It can't happen again.

Exactly and, before the last game, we played 5 in a row with the same 11 (I think?). I agree, we need more in than leave unless its someone like Ruddy or Greek fella. Mind, Ill be disappointed if were relying on Sean and Callum, even off the bench, next season.

The Greek guy should be sold and we can reclaim some of the money we invested in him in the quid pro quo with Forest.

Callum can not be here past the end of the season. He's been a great servant, just the legs are gone and he can't fill in, take the strain off Isak and provide the goals we need to supplement Alex's contributions.

We need to know that our 2nd striker is gonna come off the bench and change games, get goals and potentially win us matches.

Longstaff likewise, we need more from our bench. It's not enough, a player has to have an impact not a placeholder.
