Real Madrid actually spend some money on a player

After 2 windows of tapping up players and getting them on a free Madrid finally stick their hand in their pocket and pay some money for a player.

A statement read: "AFC Bournemouth can confirm that defender Dean Huijsen will join Real Madrid following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season, with the Spanish side having activated a ?50 million release clause.

Chalk that one off the list, it was a short lived interest from the club.

The feeding frenzy from the EPL teams was bizarre. None of the fraudies offered Bournemouth the ?50m. I guess that says something of PSR and something about their opinion of Huijsen.

I think a lot of clubs, including us would have happily had him but not at the expense of a large chunk of budget.

Also fact the player had made it clear he wanted Madrid and the new Madrid boss had said he wanted Huijsen.

Great business from Cherries though, signed for ?12.5 million last season, sold for huge profit this.

Great business for a club without ambition!

I really don?t want to sell any of our stars for a big profit

However, I?d love us to find these bargains ourselves

However, Real Madrid should be forced in to a 2 window new player registration ban any time they are caught tapping up a player? one that comes into force as that players contract expires

Real Madrid are one of the few clubs that do have a real international pull.

The filth do not. Liverpool ... maybe. Madrid and Barcelona are the teams every kid plays as on FIFA or Pro Evo or whatever.

He's Spanish so no doubt after leaving Turin for Gods Waiting room on the South Coast Returning to his motherland was a no-brainer.

Good luck to the kid. I wish him every success for a long and prosperous career. I look forward to beating him in the Champions League final in 4-5 yrs time
