Thread: What's the plan Scotty?

  1. #1

    Question What's the plan Scotty?

Pep Guardiola says he will leave Manchester City unless the Board of Directors reduces the number of players at his disposal. He claims it is an ?intolerable position? to be put in to have to leave fully fit players like Foden, Grealish and Lewis in Manchester when his team travel to play away games.

Sean Dyche during his tenure at Turf Moor consistently stated just how difficult it is to keep all the players fit and happy to be called into action when their time or need comes.

Scott Parker is being rightly applauded for his man management skills during this latest successful promotion campaign, but now the Clarets need to build a 25 player English Premier League squad good enough to stay in next season?s elite football league.

I?ve been away on holiday for the last two weeks and whilst sipping on ice cold beer and soaking up the sunshine I got to thinking just how Scott will pick the bones out of this lot. All are either already at Gawthorpe or will be returning back from loan spells soon to resume training.

Names like Amdouni, Benson, Churlinov, Costelloe, Dodgson, Delcroix, Ekdal, Hountondji, Obafemi, Mellon, Waller, Oluwaseun, Tresor, Westley, and Agyei are either already at Gawthorpe or will be back soon to resume training.

Will Scott instigate a clear out of bench warmers to bring in a few quid here or there, integrate individual players into the EPL squad or consider further loan periods. Or a lot of each?

It?s obvious Scotty has an awful lot of work to do before the whistle blows to begin a new EPL campaign in August. Personally, I would love to see Amdouni playing in cohesion with Flemming, Edwards and Anthony. Would a fully fit and firing on all cylinders Mike Tresor strengthen the team?

    Add your thoughts please?

Just heard a Burnley podcast saying Zeki wants to go to Turkey, Besiktas (as his dad is Turkish and he supported Besiktas as a kid).

What a load of codswallop from Guardiola - all managers face that predicament - he?s awash with talent t and has won nothing and now decides it?s horrible for him - that?s the thing about winning all is forgotten but when your losing suddenly the walls are closing in ( how can anyone moan about decisions he makes himself ).

We can?t have excess baggage - youth that can develop is one thing after that they have to go.

I bet the rest of the Prem managers wish they had Pep's problem. It seems to be a new slant on the poor workman blaming his tools.

The point I was attempting to make is I'll bet Scotty wishes he had the same problem that Guardiola apparently has. We do not have an embarrassment of riches, just the likes of Amdouni, Benson, Churlinov, Costelloe, Dodgson, Delcroix, Ekdal, Hountondji, Obafemi, Mellon, Waller, Oluwaseun, Tresor, Westley, and Agyei to sort out.

Scotty has the complete opposite problem to what Pep is moaning about. He has to shift about 15/16 players who are of no use whatsoever to a PL club. Good luck to him, he's going have earned his wages if he can sort that lot out.

He doesn't have a problem, he just shifts them out on loan like we did this season to get them off the wage bill, or in Amdouni case we try and get a fee

The problem our sales department currently have is only a couple of the bench warmers impressed out on loan. What are we to do?
