    I don't believe there's anything naive whatsoever. Trying to play to the same template that every single other team in the division has been doing forever, some sizeable clubs marooned there for year after year after year and expecting it to suddently be a success for Notts is what I would call naive

    I wouldn't disagree with that at all, indeed I absolutely do believe that Notts need an effective target man up front. They certainly need that as part of a strong spine. We know that playing with such a type does not preclude playing football, quite the contrary. There was an excellent example across the Trent many moons ago (and many others) with Peter Withe leading the line in a team that played some absolutely scintillating football.
