Mellow it is, my error usually clubs offer them at the end of the scholarship which is 18, hence the senior moment, however you are correct they can be offered at 17 and if my memory is not playing further tricks is he not 17 this month?

I'm not sure but I thought he was 17 at the end of May.
If so, given all the hype about his ability, you would have thought the club would have signed him up by now.....unless of course he's had his head turned by the reported interest from Everton.

You are correct birthday is 31st May, he is on a 2 year you deal he signed with us last September so we can offer him a professional deal anytime between his 17th
birthday and the end of his youth deal. Let's see if anything gets announced.

And for Gru's benefit McGuckin has signed a new deal with the club

I think Douglas is going to be part of MH plans as he?s recently signed a 2 year contract from what I can gather he?s a centre half but remember MH doing an interview back end of last season where he sees Douglas in a role further forward and likened him to Matt Crooks! Similar build apparently as far as I can see at the mo he?d certainly get in as a centre half because we haven?t got any!
Talking of which does anyone else think it?s important we get at least a couple of bodies in this week to give the fans a boost also bearing in mind the Portugal trip think day after Parkgate friendly if only from a bonding point of view

Don’t know much about Duncan apart from he’s the best thing since sliced bread according to those within the club, give him a chance I say if we’re going down the youth route I do think we need an old head at the back though to organise etc a younger version of Woody would be great!
