Just hope we've got a cast-iron contract with him. Is they any rules, at his age, which determine the length of contract for 16yr old?
If not, it could be goodbye to lots of future money...............not like us though................utm.

He is only on a youth contract with us at the moment which basically means that any other club is free to talk to him or his agent if he has one about a professional contract with them.

If he leaves us for another club while on a youth contract here then the we would be due some initial compensation from the other club but it wouldn't amount to much. Then there would be further compensation due if/when he starts making regular appearances at the new club.

We can also offer him a professional contract now, but it would not come into force until he turns 17 however it would give us more protection from other clubs being able to sign him. If he had a professional contract in waiting with us then the normal transfer rules would apply and any other clubs would need to have an offer accepted by Rotherham before they can negotiate with him or his agent.

What are the chances of PD our COO making the correct decision for the long term benefit of Rotherham United?

Looked raw when playing in the Micky mouse cup but very capable. He's also a lump for 16 and will mature very quickly.
Hope he goes a long way and the millers make a killing from his future sales

Should sign him up as quick as possible - how may young lads of his ability come along locally ?

Offer him good money and contract which will be a fraction of the money wasted and still is on has beens at the end of their shelf life in the current squad.

There was a time when we had a number of locals playin for us so missin this one should be a no brainer!
