    Do managers understand the rules??

To quote Alan Stubbs, regarding Iorfa's red card:

'I wasn`t happy that the referee stopped the play,` the Millers Boss told Radio Sheffield after yesterday`s draw at the New York Stadium.

'Jon was through on goal. If you`re last man and you make contact with a player by holding him back then I don`t think you`ve got any arguments.

'I was disappointed because I thought the referee could have let play go on a couple of seconds more and see where it left us. But, no I didn`t think the referee got the decision wrong.

The offence is denying a goal scoring opportunity, so if "Jon was through on goal" that clearly hadn't happened. So if the ref stopped play, he should have sent himself off as he was apparently the one who denied the goal attempt......

It's easy for Stubbs to say after the event, looking at the replay, Iorfa had recovered just after the whistle had gone and got back onside to win the ball. One thing Stubbs or anyone else can say is what could or would have happened if play had gone on, we will never know.

That should read goal side of the Rotherham player to win the ball.
