    Visit Dubai? No thanks...

Just the latest in a long line of reasons to steer well clear of this place...

    .

I don't know why the guy sent the message threatening court proceedings etc - why he didn't go and speak to him face to face - or even if he had spoken to him tete-a-tete...or even spoke to him by phone other than message, I don't know what really went wrong with the car - says it broke down, but what does that mean...car was finished, light repair big repair....I just dont know....so therefore I don't give a Sh@t.

as for Dubai, it's their law - so it's when in Rome...and this couple, from what I gather, had chosen to live there...so must've known the rules, many of them being pretty frickin heavy - so what was it, a mistake or some crazy game - I dont know, but they're out of it, alive and need never go back.

I've been to Dubai many times staying for couple of days each time whilst waiting for my flight connection to China.
    I've never had any problems.
One place I don't wish to visit again is Karachi, Pakistan....for many reasons. I was cautioned by the local Police for wearing shorts in the hotel lobby/bar during the summer, for smoking whilst walking in the street, etc.
As Norder posted "when in Rome....."
I live in Mianxi, China, I quickly realised the laws and customs and it makes my life much easier than if I chose to ignore them.
