Listening to BBCRC online outside the UK

If you listen to BBCRC online outside the UK be aware that you will not hear any more until after the Winter Olympics.

The broadcasting rights for the Winter Olympics force the BBC to centrally close down all the local radio service signals that are on the internet outside the UK. No individual BBC local radio station can alter this. It applies 24 hours a day during the time of the Winter Olympics.

So how does that affect the commentary on iFollow which is a direct feed from BBCRC?

I presume that if you are using iFollow in the UK it is within the scope that is continuing. Otherwise, you may be able to get advice from :-

Surely if you are in the UK you do not need a VPN. I thought that within the UK you could get BBCRC on the internet in i.e. John O'Groats and Land's End.

The internet broadcasting of BBC local radio is switched off only outside the UK and only during the Winter Olympics.

I can’t get iFollow at 3 p.m. most Saturdays in the UK. I use a VPN for our away games. I don’t travel for football nowadays so that’s a tenner they wouldn’t otherwise have got. Well, 11 Euros.

Ah, is iFollow only legitimately available from outside the UK, hence your use of the VPN?

Or is it available to users in the UK and you have a problem using that service?

3:00pm to 5:15 may be sacrosanct to the EFL in terms of usage of iFollow in the UK.

So it is possible to use iFollow on Saturday from 3:00pm but only from outside the UK, hence your use of a VPN? Is that it?

I work for a global company so when I log on remotely it goes through the Swiss Servers so it automatically thinks I’m in Zurich… it’s a pain for shopping or google at times but cheaper than the UK for I Follow… if I’m honest have never used it though…

You think that’s bad news.. BBC Radio Manchester has Noblot on every fo0king week…. Many complaints have been sent in but everyone gets the same template response blah blah blah…

We were on it twice once… oh yes… Noblot home & away 🤷*♂️
