Aye, would have to be a fire sale if the owner needed to vacate in a hurry.

If Abramovic gets hit with sanctions and the government freeze his assets he might not be able to sell the club. With those statements at the weekend and this today it seems like he's panicking to me. Very uncertain times for Chelsea fans

You know who I feel most sorry for?

Those Chelsea fans-hundreds of them-on Wembley way at the weekend singing '97, we wish it was more' at the Liverpool fans.

Ah, no, wait....I didn't mean 'feel sorry for' at all. Hope it goes spectacularly wrong for them.

    Not one bit sorry.

Our high horse is not that high because the Saudis probably aren't as lily white as their garbs when it comes to Yemen.

And if that becomes a focus for some reason (escalation or greater media interest in specific past human rights abuses there, etc), our investment could go sour fast. If that or something disastrous occurs as a result of our association with them, we will not receive any sympathy from any quarter.

The whole thing is a disaster for everyone involved.

They'll be just fine because someone will pick up a global brand cheap. You kinda know where the Saudi money would have gone if they didn't buy us already.

Chelsea have welcomed an approach to buy the club from the Taliban. A spokesman said “Yes, this will definitely improve our moral standing”.

I wonder how much of the Chelsea sale money will go to Russians?

Sanction his ass and the rest of the oligarchs before they start moving money out the country
