PREDICTION TIME Sat 05/08 BLACKBURN V WBA

    *************

This is the first fixture of the 2023/24 season for you to predict on. Hopefully we can get a great turnout and everyone is invited, new and old, to take part. Points are awarded for the exact score or the correct result, the link to point scoring is posted below.
So come and have ago and who knows, you could be the next winner of the greatest Prediction League on Footymad.

    Best of Luck!!

NOTE - The first fixture WILL attract the 50pt/20pt bonus for the only one who calls it

Ive decided against a league position bonus - a few too many imponderables, play offs, late entrants, many calling the same league position etc. I may look into something similar next season.
    ___________

First fixture, always a tricky one!!

    Just a thought Phil.

We often get multiple people forecasting the same correct score.

Do you maybe think that the first person to predict a correct score deserves a bit extra?

I do think there’s a bit of an advantage in predicting 5 minutes before kick off when you know what the teams are and who’s out injured late in the day.

    Just a thought.

Without delving into past predictions i would be unsure if the first person who correctly predicted the score as happened too often, if it did then I would have been top 3 every season at least! Conversely there must be some who have predicted correctly last and still got maximum points.
I havn't noticed many predicting the score 5 mins before kick off, the latest tends to be about 30 mins before, so again im unsure if there would be any real advantage in this. Still, its always worth looking at....

As a reminder to everyone team news is generally posted around an hour before kick off and everyone who predicts before than, or after, has ONE change of mind - ie can change their prediction once , before kick off.
