    WBA PREDICTION LEAGUE -Is Back

    ******************

The new Championship season begins August 5th and will mark the beginning of Albion's long, long season. So why not check out the up coming PREDICTION TIME thread which is generally posted up 2 days before the game and simply predict the score for the WBA fixture. You will receive 50 Points for the EXACT score or 20 Points for the CORRECT result.

There will, on occasions, be an extra fixture to accompany the Albion game for you to predict on in order to gain bonus points in your quest to be the outright WBA Prediction League Champion for the 2023/24 season.

See below for all the rules, fixtures and Point scoring. Everyone who visits this forum is invited to take part whether you are a regular or a first timer. So let's hope we have a great turn out this season and remember, and I know I say this every season, but you will be taking part in the BEST and most PRESTIGIOUS Prediction League competition anywhere on FOOTYMAD bar none. Best of luck!!

    ___________________

    POINTS

50 points plus a bonus of 50 points is added if only one person predicts the EXACT SCORE

20 points plus a bonus of 20 points is added if only one person predicts the CORRECT RESULT

50 points given for the EXACT SCORE. If more than one person predicts the EXACT SCORE then a 20 point bonus is added to the person with the fewest points going into the fixture in order to maintain competitiveness.

20 points for the CORRECT RESULT (e.g. score is 2-2 and you predict 1-1). If more than one person predicts the CORRECT RESULT then a 10 point bonus is added to the person with the fewest points going into the fixture in order to maintain competitiveness

Bonus points are ONLY awarded for WBA fixtures.

Bonus points are only given to those who have points on the table - also that person must have made a prediction on the previous fixture.

If there is a tie for 1st place in the League at seasons end then the person with the most 50 points earned from predicting the WBA fixtures ONLY is deemed the winner. If that doesn't decide the winner then the one with the most 20 points will be considered.

Predictions must be made before kick off. Any later then your prediction may not be registered.

    FIXTURES

An Extra fixture from the Championship is featured once per month, whenever possible. This is the MONTHLY DOUBLE

Whenever WBA have a match in midweek an extra fixture will be included. This fixture will feature a game that is NOT in the CHAMPIONSHIP, whenever possible. This is the MIDWEEK DOUBLE

An extra fixture will also feature whenever WBA are in involved in a Cup game wherever possible. This is the CUP DOUBLE

Extra fixtures will also be featured over the busy Christmas, New Year period and the final game of the season

    THAT’LL DO.

At the moment, this is possibly the only aspect of the new season I am looking forward to.
Hey Phil...just a thought....why not throw in a bonus points for a beginning prediction as to where the Albion will finish at the end of the season?
A one of prediction that has to be made before the season starts?
Either way...thanks for your time and effort making what could be a long season alright...cheers..

A neat idea Dubs - a bit like the Eurovision song contest where the main judges score it and then along comes the public vote and the leader finishes half way down the league. Im sure 100pts for the correct league position could possibly do the same at seasons end. I'll consider it and let you all know by Thursday.

That’s a good idea Dubs……maybe a 100 point bonus for naming the finishing position correctly.

    Bottom I say.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.
I think the bonus would be shared between the lot of us so.. LOL

I was thinking bottom minus 20 points deduction for not paying the players half way through the season..
    Anyway regardless...looking forward to it.
