If you are determined to save the world you just need to crack nuclear fusion. So find a way to heat deuterium and tritium to the same temperature as the sun while contained in a vessel but they gases inside cant touch the sides of the vessel. Aye Aye, I suppose they say it'll be cheap as well.
I heard all this in the early 70's
Apparently they had found oil in the North Sea and we were all going to get free gas and electric.
I can't remember if they really found oil, they couldn't have, otherwise Union Street wouldn't look the way it does.
