I'm sure they do, as do Trade Unionists.
A healthy work ethic is instilled within most of them.
In spite of what the Daily Mail tries to tell you.

Although my heart is with the proletariat, my experience tells me that they're only in it for number one and would grab at the first opportunity to enrich themselves and lord it over their ( for now) equals.

Maggie didn't just beat the unions, she crushed them.
She also managed to expose the people for the want to be capitalists they all are.

Anyone who bought their council house should hang their head in shame.
Depends on how you define successful.
There's always been spivs who adopted a "me first fu ck you, I'm alright" attitude, but they were in the minority pre-Thatcher.
Mebbe had something to do with the commonality of purpose associated with heavy industry, who knows.

Post Thatcher this attitude became compulsory rather than optional.
She didn't just crush trade unions she crushed layers of morality within the populace at large.

And I agree re: Council houses, however when someone dangles "free" money in front of you, it's tough to refuse.

      • The word that lets you down is "most"

What do you do with the skivers?

A union protects them from the sack, which they richly deserve, and makes sure that they get the same pay as the everyone else.

        Sod that.

It is indeed, but refuse it you must or join the other side.
Which, of course, was her tactic all along.

But if you add experience of co-operatives, then you find thieving and skiving taking over to such an extent that the whole thing collapses.

                Certainly not my anecdotal experience.

Yes even he can't survive this time. He will no doubt need to have every last finger levered off his No 10 desk but the men in dark suits will do the deed.

                      Each and every time.

                      It's his forte.
To paraphrase: a child in every hole.

If he tried that, the Queen would say no.

Yes. She's stuck her nose in political matters before
