  • I’m afraid that capital punishment is a no no.

Remember, many would like to get rid of football fans.

There would obviously have to be some process before hitting the launch button. A flow chart would probably do.

Few beers before a 3pm kick off ---->> Don't Launch

Spending their Friday nights watching dogs tear each other apart ------->> Launch

When Blair’s lot introduced some sort of nebulous ban earlier this century, my boss mentioned it in passing. I declared my enthusiastic support for it as the horsey would-be aristos need a good fûcking kicking now and again (preferably about once an hour). She (you really dinna want pics, Judith’s oxters would be safe even from the Sobchack vas deferens-jets) asked: “So you’re opposed to fox-hunting on class grounds.”
“You’re darn tootin, ma’am*, but I’m none too keen on innocent mammals being torn asunder by badly-treated dogs either”.

If memory serves it was former Dumbarton MP, now The Right Honourable The Lord McFall of Alcluith PC, Lord Speaker of the House of Lords that pushed for the hunting ban. As much as i supported it, not once have I ever saw a fox chased by hounds through Dumbarton High St. However, i did see Ballantines, Westclox, Polaroid and many other businesses, chased from the area under his watch.Feckless, gravy train driving, boot licking @rsehole that he is

I think they said it was running out soon.

Soon means all sorts of things.

We'll soon be enjoying sunlit uplands.
                HS2 will soon be completed.

You’ll not be surprised to learn that I disagree with you entirely on that

                          • It's all very well saying we shouldn't produce crude oil but the reality is it is used in so many day to day products that it will take decades to develop alternatives. Whilst almost all the focus is on crude oil being used for transportation and heating and how we reduce it's use (electric cars/heat pumps etc) we can't ignore all of the other uses of crude oil. Just a small sample of what we need crude oil for currently

                            Clothes (nylons, polymers etc)
                            House furnishings (sofas/carpets/curtains/cushions etc)
                            Electronic equipment (phones/ipads/laptops/TV's etc)
                            Kids toys (almost all)
                            Tarmac for roads
Chemicals for pesticides/fertilizer to boost food production etc
                            Almost all toiletries
                            Almost all kitchen utensils
                            House insulation (the irony!!)
Sports equipment (including footballs - keeping it topical)
Glasses/contact lenses (just for DD's benefit)

I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the gist of it by now.

Don't get me wrong, I have no doubt whatsoever that climate change is real and is caused by amongst other things crude oil production but for those that say we should just stop oil production they are just kidding themselves. This will be a long gradual process to find alternatives (if that is indeed possible) to so many products that virtually every single human on the planet uses and that means a long gradual process of declining oil production rather than an instant stop advocated by many.

Well not according to Ian Wood calling a press conference just days before the referendum , obviously working for the london government via a phone call.because the YES vote took the lead and panic set in down in another country .

His words were I'm worried about the oil industry in Scotland as it's only got 15 years left and I'm thinking about the young people coming up .

                              I'm a proud Scot and a proud brit ( meaning a unionist )

                              • I knew the whole Bibby Stockholm saga was going to end badly but I didn't think it was going to come this soon. Turns out the taps on the barge are full of legionnaires disease. Apparently this is not ideal for drinking.
