Former poster (may have been on the aul site, or even the aul aul site) Gixer6 is part of the local stand-up comedy club, and posted today that the late individual was among the pant-pishingly hilarious guests they’ve ever featured. Hecklers reduced to tine blobs of grease, apparently.
I never pay much attention to television since we were robbed of live test cricket, so I don’t know much about him.

Aye, that was it. Was a long time ago, mid 90s? He was excellent in that.

He did a show about helping dogs on TV, which isn't really my thing and the last thing I heard him on was Radio 2 on Sunday afternoons.
