  • Aberdeen v Hibernian

It's another Sunday service at the Cathedral of Football on October 26th as the Greek tragedians take on Hibernian at 1430 GMT (don't forget the clocks go back this weekend).

Will the wounded animal try to make amends and give the Cabbage and Ribs a hiding, or will they be knackered from their exertions on Thursday night?

I am veering toward the latter, and I fancy a 3-1 away win for the Edinburgh side.

HUGE game. Even more so for JT than the team IMO. Once you get into the doom spiral, it’s very hard to halt it and the manager inevitably pays the price. One thing to say it’s a 3 year project regardless but lose majority support and it only ends one way.

I like him so hope not but that showing has set the relationship with the fans back again after two recent results.

God knows how he lines up for this one. Not a clue in his thinking. Does he revert to his favoured 4-2-3-1?

Stewart on TNT kept going on about the 3 at the back being the issue, it was having just the 2 in central midfield for me. Can?t play both Karlsson and Aouchiche IMO. Not with two wing backs who aren?t actually wingbacks. Need another actual midfielder in there. At least when he plays the 3 at the back it ensures Jack Milne keeps getting a game.

But then none of our midfielders are exactly setting the heather on fire. Earlier in week I had a conversation saying I don’t want ANY players in in the Jan window as we have far too many, need a settled line up and the kids will never get a sniff. I take it back - I?ll make an exception for the Ramadani type replacement we’ve all being crying out for. An energetic mobile DM.

Will tonight’s exertions see him freshen it up? Still baffled by the plethora of players we don’t even see yet still missing obvious areas. Afore mentioned DM and full back/wing back cover. Maybe Kjartansson and Frame are the answer, but we’ll never know if we don’t give them a chance.

It really will not matter what the score is. Dave Cormack and his cohorts have given free rein to Jimmy Turnip. He is nearly halfway through his three year reign of terror.

I hope we dont change the formation because our defence was looking a lot better with 3 at the back before last night. I dont think any of our defenders are good enough to play in a 4231.

The biggest problem to me last night was what you mentioned, he should have played Polvara instead of Aouchiche so we had 3 midfielders.Fair enough playing Karlsson and Aouchiche against Dundee and St Mirren but it was a huge mistake last night.

I wouldnt say we need a Ramadami replacement, the longer it goes on since he left the better he seems to become in some supporters eyes but he was playing in a side that got destroyed 4-0 by Dundee Utd 5-0 by Hearts and 6-0 by Hibs.

Personally I dont think we have ever managed to replace Lewis Ferguson,he is probably the last really good midfielder we have had.

I never knew it was a 2:30pm kick off either.

              Cheers Swaddon

Looking forward to this one and just hope the players can get their heads past yesterdays result.

I don't think he has to change too much for this one, but he has to have us solid in the wide areas, as Hibs like to use the wing.

Maybe give Lobban and Frame some game time and see if they are the answer to problem positions.

A win and all will be right with the world.

A bad defeat could see things get messy.

Our defence is utter dogsh1t against any team with a bit of attacking prowess. I thought we had maybe turned a corner but we obviously are a long way off from the corner even being in view. As above a 3-0 defeat and bottom of two leagues. It can't really get much worse.

Ramadani TYPE. Not Ramadani per se. You know what I mean, he was just the last player of that sort. Fergie obviously better.

Dare I say it someone with the energy (and willingness) to cover the pitch like Killian Phillips currently doing for St Mirren.

Thought that’s what we were getting in Palaversa but he covers very little ground. Often feel the guy is coasting with us, think we could see much more but I guess that’s why he’s here and not Man City.

Forgot about McGrath - nothing surer than him to score.
Still think we were silly not giving him the extra year he wanted.

Think Hibs are doing the footballing equivalent of putting bog roll down a Greek toilet.

Yeah fair enough I know what you mean, other than Shinnie we dont have anyone like that who will run around closing players down and try winning the ball. Obviously Shinnie is past his best and is getting asked to try to do that role because nobody else in the squad seems to be willing to.

Palaversa has been a huge disappointment to me, he clearly has ability but he doesnt show it often enough which is why he is probably playing for us. I feel his attitude isnt always what it should be either maybe thinks he is better than he actually is.

The thing I dont get with that one is McGrath apparently wanted a 4 year deal with us and the club said they werent willing to give a 28 year old such a long contract.

But we then signed Stuart Armstrong who is 33 years old and gave him a 2 year deal.He will 35 at the end of his deal and McGrath would have been 32 at the end of his 4 year deal so what was the issue?
