Probably more the latter.Originally posted by Mason89 View PostDo you think that’s down to McInnes doing well or them being a basket case?
Yes McInnes has had failings this year, but overall he's still doing a good job.
With a bit more luck and consistency from our signings, we could have fared better.
Its a good pointer that splashing case is no guarantee of success though

Maybe we shouldn't just accept second but that's another argument.Originally posted by Stupie82 View PostIts all down to expectations though. While they arent far behind us, they have taken a bucket load of points off us this season and are still behind us. We will except second, they wont and thats the difference.
Ultimately, they've had a **** load of injuries, signed ridiculously ****e players (allegedly on silly money), general turmoil off the field, captain and most senior player both suspended and are now on their third manager. The Portuguese fella was really, really bad. Murty is an U20s manager that was ****e and probably didn't want to be there and now they have Jimmy Nicholl. They should not just be only three points off us. It would worry me if they kinda got their act together.
I'm still confident of finishing 2nd though and I've enjoyed the piss taking. Long may it continue but it wasn't that long ago there were post upon post about how they are going back into administration.

I would not say that they are completely out of the woods yet.Originally posted by Aldo1983 View Postit wasn't that long ago there were post upon post about how they are going back into administration.
We can only hope it comes to bite them.
If they were pushed into 4th and by some unlikely miracle, Motherwell win the Scottish Cup, it would firmly put a wedge into any cracks there may be.

An unlikely miracle indeed. Same thing could happen to us and that would be catastrophic to our finances, would it not?Originally posted by afc1903mad View PostI would not say that they are completely out of the woods yet.

We don't know what state they are in. Nobody knows. The Huns I work with that genuinely take an interest in how the club is run don't even know.
The chance to have them dead and buried has been and gone I'm afraid.

Not quite the same level I would suggest.Originally posted by Aldo1983 View PostAn unlikely miracle indeed. Same thing could happen to us and that would be catastrophic to our finances, would it not?
Our finances I doubt are dependent on Europe, although no doubt there would be a reduction in available budget.
for SevCo, it would be catastrophic
Probably, but there is plenty of information that if you read between the lines, they are not in a good financial place.Originally posted by Aldo1983 View PostWe don't know what state they are in. * Their accounts
* Their soft loans
* The media hype trying to flog Barrie MacKay for £6M and then selling for £500k.
* The media hype trying and failing to flog Morelos
* Losing Bates because they could not afford his wages
* The Carlos Pena debacle
* Loan signings to cover lack of funds
* Talk about making a "best appointment" manager and then it appears opting for someone with no managerial experience.
They are clambering any way possible to get revenue to stave off a more serious financial implications

Lets face it, it's been hilarious.
Saviour after saviour has come and been proved to be yet another false prophet.
They simply refuse to understand that it was overspending in the first place that caused all the problems with the now extinct rangers.
Even in the third division Sevco had to be seen to be spending like Rangers.
Any form of regret and contrition would have seen them able to climb through the divisions while putting the new club on a firm finacial footing.
They just simply refuse to do it.
Now they behave like a drunk, who instead of going home, staggers his way to the casino.
Every managerial appointment has the feel of an all or nothing gamble.
Of course it could work, well it could work half the time if they went odds or evens or red or black.
But they won't even do that.
Gerrard?
Well their number MIGHT come up, of course it might.
It's not going to though, is it?
All very entertaining.

New stadium. AberDNA set up to make up for the budget shortfall... We don't know our own financial position right now.Originally posted by afc1903mad View PostNot quite the same level I would suggest.

Anyway, it's still all speculation.
4yrs ago they were going into administration, 3yrs ago they were going into administration...
I'd love that to happen again but let's try and do them on the park in the meantime.
