Rangers Then, Sevco Now, Scotland's Shame Forever....

Watched the David Robertson interview with Si (how camp am I?) Ferry.
When asked what the highlight of his 7 years at Rangers was, he said winning the Scottish Cup v AFC at Parkhead, and seeing the dissapointment on manager Willie Miller's face, at full time.
Apparently, Miller did nothing other than spend 3 seasons shouting at Robertson, when they were team mates.
Ach, why did I expect anything else?

I will wait until they play us off the park before I make my mind up.Originally posted by Devanha Red View PostThat lot have stepped it up big time. It's been coming for a while but I think we're going to be witnessing pretty close to the finished article this season.
I'm worried. Very worried.

Not being Mr Negative here, rather Mr Realist but I firmly believe we'll get our lowest points tally against the gruesome twosome this year than any other under McInnes tenure.
The Huns are starting to come good with two strong first 11's it seems and McInnes 99% of the time sh*ts the bed when it comes to facing Celtic. We're struggling to get a first strong 11 on the park and if results don't seriously improve between now and our first game against either of them then I sense a 3-4 goal victory for them.
We'll be battling with Hearts and Hibs for 3rd spot which this year won't be as much of an achievement as the 10 teams outwith the manky mobs will be poor.
Cups are and always will be our best chance of any success but I'm predicting we won't even get to the semis of both tournaments this year as it's a stick on for Huns Vs Tims finals and we'll get papped out by Caley or Hamilton or the likes.

I'm not sure if you are Mr Negative or not but I would suggest you are not Mr Realist. We'll be doing well to get less than 2014/15 when we got zero points against them (I know, I know sevco weren't in the league)!!Originally posted by ZakkTheMakk View PostNot being Mr Negative here, rather Mr Realist but I firmly believe we'll get our lowest points tally against the gruesome twosome this year than any other under McInnes tenure.

I agree that the cups is our only chance of success this year but I would be fairly confident if we don't get to the semi we won't lose to a Caley/Hamilton type team and remember arithmetically there is a 50/50 chance that celtic/sevco end up in the same half of the draw so a cup final place is open for a team like us

Admittedly Celtic at the back are no great shakes but after watching them a couple of times this year its safe to say that they'll have too much speed, guile, innovation and finishing for our ropey defence. Remember we can't keep clean sheets against most teams we've faced already and none have been close to how Celtic can perform.
Rangers are a different beast altogether as they're looking to make statements this year, they're scoring for fun and defending better so with both those things in mind then yeah, I'll honestly be surprised if we get any points from them this year.
I don't think the top two will be like Man City and Liverpool last year with 98 and 97 points respectively but I think they'll both easily be in the high 80's - low 90's with 3rd coming in with mid to high 60's points wise.
Of course I hope I'm wrong but with 9 in a row at stake then both teams wont let their guard down as they may have done in seasons past

I agree the two of them will sail off into the distance but if they are going to drop 25 or so points based on your numbers then for sure we will be one of the teams to take points off of them. I'm still to be entirely convinced on sevco away from iprix as remember it took a last minute goal to beat a poor Killie teamOriginally posted by ZakkTheMakk View PostAdmittedly Celtic at the back are no great shakes but after watching them a couple of times this year its safe to say that they'll have too much speed, guile, innovation and finishing for our ropey defence. 25 points dropped doesn't necessarily mean that we'll be the ones to take points off them. Think of the 25 points as being 6 dropped if they both beat each other, say 2-3 other losses throughout the year being another 6-9 points and already you're at 12-15 points dropped. 5 drawn games throughout the course of the season isn't unthinkable and that's you at 25 points.
That would be 38 games played, 29 wins, 4 losses and 5 draws for total points of 92 with the other team having 38-28-5-5 for 89 points.
So you're looking at the victors losing twice in the league outwith their derby and drawing 5 games. 7 games in total when Celtic have the hoodoo over us and Rangers wanting to beat their fiercest rivals aside of Celtic..... Yeah I can see us garnering 0 points from our 8 games against them. Hurts to say but I'd be more shocked if it didn't happen than if it did

Currently at 50 mins in against Dundee and trailing 1-0 going on 2/3-0, I hope my seeing eye has it wrong but my belief that a Caley/Hamilton team would dump is out is scarily close to becoming reality.Originally posted by Red Zone View PostI'm not sure if you are Mr Negative or not but I would suggest you are not Mr Realist.
