  • He didn't spit on him, spat towards him apparently. Still a tink.

St Johnstone are only 6pts off Sevco. We should go all out guns blazing on Sunday now. Them not getting into Europe will be a disaster for them.

          • We've got St Johnstone twice still as well; maybe we could give them the 6 points.

My mole in the SFA said when I mentioned the fact that the 5088 would not meet European qualification criteria since they're nae yet 5, that the SFA are bricking it about the possible situation.

I am sure the Sevco Football Association has a plan.

I'd be very surprised if Sevco didn't qualify for Europe then for the SFA to bottle it.

                  • I actually think the huns making Europe and then not getting in because of their finances, would be even more beautiful than St J pipping them too it... That said, tears would be running doon my legs with either scenario!!

Its got absolutely nothing to do with the SFA whether they get into Europe or not. All they do is apply for their license. Its up to UEFA if they get in or not and UEFA love scrutinizing finances

                      • As well as not having 5 years audited accounts, they also have the added issue of continued financial losses accured over the last 3 years. To quote John James:

"In a nutshell, regulations are in place to deter clubs from running up significant financial losses. This is done for two reasons. First, to try to protect teams from themselves. Secondly, to ensure competition is not distorted by clubs being able to run up huge debt while continuing to use that debt to fund football success. Clubs are allowed to post a maximum aggregate loss over every three-year "monitoring period" of €5m (£4.25). Failure to contain losses to under this amount can result in sanctions, with some exceptions. For the period relevant to the 2017/18 season, UEFA looks at the financial reporting years of 2017, 2016 and 2015. Rangers' accounts for the financial year ending June 2017 will not be published until later next year so it is not possible to establish what profit or loss they will post. We will get some indication from interim results posted in early to mid-2017. The early signs are Rangers are going to run into difficulty. Their aggregate losses to date are £11.9m, well above the threshold."

                        • ^ let's be honest, that all means nothing. Football isn't real life. Especially with the "British establishment club"

Pacman, hope this is true because I keep hearing that UEFA will not change the SFA stance to let the h,uns into Europe!! If it is up to the SFA they will rubber stamp the h,uns to europa qualifiers.

If it's up to the SFA they will rubber stamp them getting into the super duper amazing champions league cup.

                              Otherwise Scottish football will suffer.

                              • It has 100% got f@ck all to do with the SFA.The SFA can only apply for their Euro license. After that UEFA check the books of the clubs submitted by each country and reject if not acceptable, see Lokomotiv Moscow, Dynamo Moscow, CSKA Sofia, Galatasaray, Skonto Riga, Dnipro, Bursaspor as examples this season. Once a team is rejected the next in line is submitted(whoever the countries beaks pick whether cup runner up or next in the league).

UEFA can also ban teams who don't qualify for Europe if they go into meltdown during a season. Twente are currently serving a 3 year ban from Europe without qualifying for a while, Genoa are in a similar predicament too.

Sevilla didn't qualify for Europe the last time they won the Europa league they got in because Rayo Vallecano were rejected by UEFA and Sevilla were next in the league.(hint of Denmark about it)

I read a blog about a fortnight ago that there are potentially are only 3 or 4 teams from Greece eligible for Europe next season. Panathanaiakos, Olympiacos, PAOK and Asteras the rest are in a financial mess

Back to Sevco if they do qualify for Europe it will tell the true tale of their finances. UEFA winna give a f@ck about telling them to piss off.
