It certainly is, but just to put it into context, it is equivalent to half a day's oil production for Saudi, which is why they can chuck away ridiculous amounts of money on football, golf etc

And I just read that if he stays at PSG until Tuesday he will get a £51m loyalty bonus. Then toodle-pip, I'm outta here.

        • Hibs are trailing crack Andorran side Inter Club d'Escaldes 0-1 in the Europa Conference League.

No sn*ggering at the back. We must support all the Scottish sides in Europe, for the coefficient and that.

            • Another season of Scottish teams embarrassing themselves in Europe. Although it will be hard to be worse than last year.

                • The reason Scottish teams do so poorly in Europe is because it’s a poor standard.

Even the cheeks are shyte they are just better than everyone else.

It’s not entirely down to the pair of them but they have played a big part in ruining Scottish football from what it was in the 80s

                  • It's not just a poor standard, it's too thuggish. That means teams can't play the same way in Europe otherwise they'd get a load of red cards.

Disagree with that Jupiter, Scottish Fitba is nowhere near thuggish. There are no tackles and players just chuck themselves to the floor with minimal contact these days so you can't be thuggish. IMO Scottish fitba's failure is all down to attempting to play the "Pep" way with players that aren't good enough to do it. Look at us last year, when we stopped farting about at the back, we stopped losing ridiculous goals and with a bit of foreign quality we managed to get results. You can only play with the cards you are dealt

Agree, it’s part of the reason modern football is so shyte. Every club tries to play the same way. The ones that are good at it, are the ones that can afford the players that can play it. Football is basically a financial d1ck measuring game now.

I blame Spain/Barcelona for it. Those c*nts completely ruined the sport

                        • Does every club in Scotland really try to play that way? We can’t accuse them of being Hammer throwers and tiki-taka effete types at the same time.

Not entirely unrelated but am reading the biography of Stewart Imlach by his son, Gary, the cycling commentator . A time when it seems Lossiemouth was a hotbed off footballing talent.

                            That's a really good read.
                            Read it years ago.
