What do you think var is using to decide whether a ball is fully over the line?
Var was brought in because people were complaining that officials were missing these decisions and costing teams goals.
The whole thing is being used to rule out goals more than it is to see if a goal stands so it’s a complete waste of time.
The only thing it should be used for is if there is a possible penalty or if someone deserves to be sent off.
This pish about checking to see if someone is offside or they fouled someone in the build up to a goal is ludicrous.

Spain have had a goal ruled out against Norway because someone was a ballhair offside.
It's almost as if UEFA want Erling Haaland to be playing at their tournament for the sponsorship money that having one of the world's best players would bring.

There are two things wrong with VAR for offside decisions.
Firstly the rule is wrong. It should be that there is daylight between the attackers torso and the defenders torso meaning the attacker is in advance of the defender. Bolloks to this being offside by a toenail.
Secondly, they stop the play at a point they think the ball is kicked. Does that mean from the time the foot touches the ball or the time the ball leaves the foot? I don't know and neither do they but they give offside on the of miniscule margins.
I realise that the second point is tiny in time but so is a toenail where players are running in the opposite direction.
The other reason VAR is useless in Scotland is experience has shown that unaccountable hun barsteward referees are still giving hun barsteward decisions. Make them accountable for their decisions by an absolute minimum of explaining to the people paying their wages why they've given a decision.
