I'm sure there are nice Geordies, just haven't met any.Originally posted by Don Julio View PostMy mum was a Geordie. Just saying.
Worked with a few folk from Teeside and Sunderland too and they've usually been sound.
The Teeside lads really hated the Geordies. Think it runs much deeper than fitba with them.

Just caught up with yesterdays fitba.
That was some result for Dundee and should have been more than the four scored by all accounts.
Take consolation from the fact that whilst Aberdeen are hardly setting the world alight, none of the others around us are that much better, if better at all as still below us.
We've apparently won two league games out of the last 19 and still in fourth.
A truly weird season, even by our leagues standards.

Of course the other way to put that is that we have only lost one of our last five league games and that was celtic away...Originally posted by TheDeeDon View PostJust caught up with yesterdays fitba.

Just remembered it was on, looked up team and rolled my eyes at inclusion of those two.Originally posted by Br0chred View PostScotland game tonight. Hanley and Ralston starting. Folk used to speak about the importance of match fitness. No idea when either of them played a consecutive 90 minutes. McKenna playing consistently in La Liga
Was Hanley not done and bombed out of Scotland scene for a while years ago?
Switched on and Jonathon Sunderland is painful. How can he still be so bad at his job. Switched aff again.

Im not a fan of Grant Hanley and considering he isnt getting a game for Birmingham City in league one you could argue that he shouldnt have been in the squad.Originally posted by Br0chred View PostScotland game tonight. But fair play to him tonight because we won and kept a clean sheet, holding on a bit in the second half but a decent result.

I assumed Hirst was a teenager as I was unfamiliar with him. Thought hard paper round, looked him up to find out he’s 26
Then wondered far he’d been - silly question, England.
In a similar vein our Danish defender Stefan Gartenmann now plays for Switzerland.
Am I correct in thinking we’ve never had a Swiss player? Can’t think of one?

Florian Kamberi (for a mercifully short period) though after playing for Swiss U21s think he opted for AlbaniaOriginally posted by Bojangles9 View PostI assumed Hirst was a teenager as I was unfamiliar with him. Thought hard paper round, looked him up to find out he?s 26

Forgot about him. Not that he was Swiss, just forgotten about him altogether.Originally posted by rustlinsweetiepapers View PostFlorian Kamberi (for a mercifully short period) though after playing for Swiss U21s think he opted for Albania
Kamberi/Hornby/Henry - what a ****ty window that was. We were loan central that season. Suggested that Derek really wasn’t Dave’s man.
We’ve had few successful loanees. Nature of the system or are we particularly bad at it…

His Dad, the striker David Hirst, was a great striker, back in the day, but whose career was finished early due to injury.Originally posted by Bojangles9 View PostI assumed Hirst was a teenager as I was unfamiliar with him. Thought hard paper round, looked him up to find out he’s 26
