  • Thompson asked Sinclair if he dived.

    That’s what we’re up against

    • 'kin hell. That penalty decision is off the scale. It immediately reminded me of this decision from a game between the same team a couple of seasons ago: https://youtu.be/jBpqotlCvhE?t=247 . Honest mistakes.

Also, what happened to the concept of double jeopardy/double punishment introduced a couple of seasons ago? I thought you could only get a red card when conceding a penalty if it was violent conduct?

      • Fair’s fair min.
He violently nearly skiffed past him.

        We all saw it.
Penalty and a sending off all day long ( in Scotland)

There is only one question which is relevant.
If EXACTLY the same thing had happened at the other end, what would have happened?

No, the rules are now that you should only get a red if you don't make a genuine attempt to play the ball.

Since Kipre couldn't be doing so with his arm, once Thomson decided it was a penalty (no comment), the red was inevitable.

I see Rogers said after the game that he thought it was a pen but he didn't know the rules regarding the sending-off! I suppose the only rule he knows is that refs. give Celtic a helping hand whenever needed.

            • A good example of a referee's failure to apply the new rule correct was when Jasmin Handanovic wasn't sent off when he stood on Adam Rooney's calf long after the ball had departed the scene.

That's just incredible.......and as has been said higher up, nothing will happen to either Sinclair or Thomson.

What did Sinclair say post-match? (Someone alluded to it higher up?)

It's all been said really.....we live in a horrible little country in a footballing sense (as well as others....but save that for the various political threads), governed and run by short sighted, self-interested, Thatcherite scum.

Enough's been said about our own esteemed chairman and his various espousals in the lead up to, and post, the death of r*****s.

It seems that, not even covertly these days, Scottish football is run for the benefit of two, odious and morally bankrupt, organisations.
No-one in authority is prepared to stand up to this cabal/cartel, indeed it seems the majority of the major players are content to play along with this, in a wholly distasteful and obsequious fashion, tugging forlocks in gratitude at the few crumbs falling from the high table.

                Today is the 27th November.
Thus far I have attended in the flesh one Aberdeen game.
                One.
Away to Ross County, some ten miles from my front door.

I don't think this has happened ever since I first wandered into the Pitt as a seven year old lad (Halloween 1970, 4-0 home win v Joooooot).

I have no imminent plans for number two, it's looking more and more likely that, for the first time in nearly half a century , a season may come and go without me troubling a turnstile in AB24.

I never thought I'd live (by definition I guess) to see this happen, yet, in all honesty, I don't feel that bothered.

That the likes of me is gripped by this level of apathy, I KNOW I'm not alone, should be causing panic stations amongst those running our game.

That's not a statement borne of arrogance, or some kind of "top-red-ness" assumption, but when the likes of me that went week in week out to watch, and let's not beat around the bush here, sh!te for decades are peripheral, things are well on the slide.

But, hey, the cheeks are selling out so all is good.

It's nae wonder kids growing up in Mastrick, Kincorth et al, are parading about in their Man City, Chelski, Barca etc. strips rather than, like the seven year old me, nae sleeping with excitement at the thought of a Saturday walk down the Merkland Road.
I have been to a few games this season (European home and away), but no more. I have no urge to go and see what is a rigged competition. Until there is real change in Scottish football, then I am not interested in it at all.

Like InversneckieDob says, I too am not bothered about it. Going to stand and watch a overpriced product in the cold, to be told i must sit, clap politely etc does nothing for me. I do not miss it, nor do I have any urge to go a see a game, even when they played at Easter Rd, tynecastle or Murrayfield. All 10 / 20 mins from my house.

For me to change, Scottish football must change and a start would be to recognise the failure in the SFA. Regan and Doncaster must go, otherwise nothing will change and neither will I

                • Well, well, well! Who'd have thunk it?

                  http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42141794
"Celtic: PSG average salary almost nine times that of Scottish champions
The gulf in class and financial wherewithal that stymies Celtic's ability to challenge the European elite is mirrored to some degree at home.

Aberdeen, runners-up to Celtic in all three domestic competitions last season, pay players on average 5.4 times less than their seemingly untouchable rivals.
Hamilton Academical's average salary of £41,488 is 17.7 times lower than that of the champions..."

Sh1te rules + sh1te refs = sh1te outcome. Tons of fouls and pens are conceded by accidental mishaps and unintended trips where a player has just happened to have a limb in the wrong place at the wrong time - it doesn't mean they are red card material.

In this case Thomson bought a ridiculous dive, wrongly declared Kipre was last man, and harshly judged brushing past an opponent as not making a genuine attempt to play the ball (because he was trying to get into position). What a throbber. And still the Sellick fans will moan about Josh Meekings.

                    • Oh FFS! Just seen the penalty incident ...

What is the F@CKING point of trying to compete in Scottish Football?

Sinclair - cheating skunk-heided w@nker. Stick-on retrospective ban for diving ... in our dreams!

Thomson - what a f@cking bell-end - inept beyond belief. To compound it by sending the boy off really beggars belief. Red-Card rescinded .... in our dreams!

                      • I was in airport bar with the deck foreman fae work last night. Hes a pig acolyte . (From Forres, nothing like supporting your local team). His take on the pen. "we deserved it as the boy should have been off earlier" so i replied "cheating and shocking refereeing is acceptable when it evens things out?" and he said "aye and its about time the refs were on our side". These c@nts are mongos

But on the Sneck point. Im also losing interest big time. Im going to concentrate on my lower leagues hike now. Its more fun. I miss the sevco game on Sunday as ill be at Sparta Prague v Mlada Boleslav. I used to be gutted when i missed Dons games. Not now.

Im definitely heading towards enjoying being a neutral more than supporting these days

                        • Fowk nae going to games because of a bias towards Celtic and the Huns in Scottish football. Feck you should have seen it in the 70s.

Sounds daft but, it was probably worse, at least more overt, then.......but it's a different kind of worse now.

I mind the dead h*n winning the league in 78 by the same 2 points they won by their animal fans invading the pitch at Motherwell and getting the game stopped for a while.

Then there was 79 LC final, Rougvie/Johnstone.

Countless incidents like that through the 60s and 70s.

Now it's mair........insidious....corporate.....institution alised............"white collar"...........nae sure of the correct adjective.

Dunno, it just seems worse these days.
Couple in the fact that raselickbyrawaybutbigman are so far ahead, the general/overall standard of the fitba is pretty poor.....nae good.

Partially true.... The other part being that the product on offer I believe is poor and believe the game needs a massive change at SFA level. For me there is no point in going to games and moaning about it, I vote with my feet and just not go to watch the rigged competition.

                              • I bought a season ticket this year because I felt I was drifting away ( it was a frightening thought)

The bias just wears you down though.
The refs in the seventies were perfectly capable of going straight from the Hun game to the lodge for a free pint or two.

It feels sneakier now but just as bad.

It's this new stadium that worries me, I'm more than capable of just refusing to go.
Last game at Pittodrie would signal the end for me actually going to the fitba.
