100%.....a cup whether it be straight knockout or home and away you can ride your luck......a league Is the measure, hence some of the teams that have had domestic cup success have obviously won on merit per se, however, also fortune if the draw(s) or one off decisions have gone in their favour.

That aside, AC don’t have a game today, therefore I’ll be cheering on my old club v Hermes and hope results go our way or it is Div 1.

If looking in Sneckers, there was a really nice turnout yesterday to support/pay respect accordingly....I left the White House early prior to I daresay an afternoon/evening of laughter/reflection and drams.

    • The league lied in 1991 & every year from 2001 - 2012

Dumbarton & Hamilton Accies are two of the oldest clubs in Scotland with a rich history. Ross County are a trumped up teuchter league side. I’m not grudging them their place in the top league, just saying that they add nothing. They leave no impression on anyone. Nobody looks forward to playing them, there’s no grudges, you never meet their fans & if you did, you’d have no idea what their saying & they play in the dark six months a year.

Come on Mason, the more clubs from up here being in the “top tier” is surely better.....they are not a bad side and per capita are probably the best supported club in Scotland, apart from Dumbarton.

          • The facts haven’t changed. They’re the only club in world football more boring than us, although Milnes not finished yet

That's nae like you min, usually so fair and balanced regarding those from down tannadice way.

Either way, we enter the stupidity of play offs.

The Jutes deserve now to play St.Mirren ( as it stands) for a place in the premier league.

They should never ever need to play off against a team they have already finished ahead of in their league.

              • I see Mason is in wind up mode again. County have played at Victoria Park since they were formed in 1929. Their Chairman have overseen improvements to the stadium and has transformed it from a Highland League ground 1995 to Premiership standard meaning that County have not had to move home. I wish our Chairman had such foresight. He's also overseen the the building of the highland academy training numerous youngsters, hopefully some will make the grade, and even if they do not, hopefully they will have an affinity with their local club. In days gone by, I would estimate that 95% of County and fans of the Inverness clubs would have Rangers and Celtic as their "big" clubs. Hopefully youngsters attending regularly at County or ICT will have these clubs as their "big" clubs meaning less support for Rangers and Celtic.

Both County and ICT get very healthy crowds and both have won major trophies since the SFA "allowed" them into the league. Both clubs would have had much lengthier senior football histories had the SFA allowed them into the major leagues long before now.

As for playing football six months in the dark. Aye, well done. Major bantz.

Out of interest, do you think the pyramid system is a good or a bad thing? Do Annan or Edinburgh City deserve to be in the major league because they don't have major league history? Surely teams like this are more deserving of a place than teams who continually languish at the bottom of division 3? Or maybe they're ok because they're from the south of Scotland. Why do you have a problem with teams from the North? After all County and ICT are barely much further north than Aberdeen.

Or are you just on the wind up? If so, well done, you got me well and truly hooked.

Has Mason done the bit about the size of support that Dumbarton took to the Petrodiddy cup final yet?

                      • The pyramid system is as much as a disgrace as letting the teuchter teams compete in the proper leagues was. We don’t get involved in your Puffin catching, you shouldn’t get involved in our football. Letting them in weakened the Highland league & lower leagues. The only truly great thing about Scottish football was the lower leagues & they never needed tinkered with. The only thing they added was unwanted travel costs

Edit - Dis I ever tell you about Dumbarton completely outnumbering the Highland giants ICT in a cup final?
