Behind the goal
England shouldn’t try to export their racism problems.
I’ve just had a pint with half a dozen England fans I got tickets for.
They all agreed that Sterling is an arse who milks it.
Some heads are going to explode at that.

Milks what?
Being racially abused?

I wasn’t looking for a bite.
Absolutely no racist stuff at all until the ridiculous over celebration of the goal, and then very little.
Nothing compared to what would be a daily occurrence in England and certainly nothing compared to the sectarianism at Ibrox.
The “milks it” quote came from the English, who were all very impressed with the behaviour of the Hungarians, particularly during their s’hite national anthem.
I was probably the only one not to stand during it and even I refrained from booing out of respect to the Hungarian hosts.

You're heading into cheeks style whataboutery there.Originally posted by donsdaft View Post…….and then very little.
I’ve heard a lot worse in Scotland.
I’m not condoning what there was, but Hungary is racist the way Aberdeen is sectarian.
Yes, Sevco are sc um, yes there are racists in England.
But in 2021 monkey noises at black players is horrific, even if they do "over celebrate".
I actually thought Southgate got it right in his post match comments.
You see English club sides getting booed every week for taking the knee, and all over Europe, the rise of right wing populism is enabling racist/***ist/homophobic behaviour.
Barry Glendenning also called out the English media for their hypocrisy in the aftermath.
The monkey noises sounded quite loud on TV which suggested there was quite a lot of people doing it.
I know little about Hungary, beyond the fact that they do have one of the afore mentioned right wing populist zoomer enablers at the helm, but in a fitba sense there's nae defending what happened the other night.
There may be more/worse racism comes from a lot of the Baltic and former Soviet countries, but that comes back to the "whataboutery" so beloved if the cheeks.

Glad you are taking the word of travelling England fans. Good balance there.Originally posted by donsdaft View PostFair enough, all I’m saying is that I’ve experienced worse in Scotland.
Also, the comments from the English blokes I got tickets for.
As for the rise of right wing populism, I blame Mason.
I warned him but he wouldn’t listen.
