Yes. I was never a comic fan, but the AE Parker partner whose sideline was the comics business was in a variety of bands with me back then as well as a fellow TRF regular. We may be meeting this week for the first time since a pre-show pint before the Costello gig in Edinburgh last March. Just on ‘aul mannies speaking pish’ business, although guitars, fitba and literature will no doubt be main agenda items.

He, and Fred of One-Up, ran the twin meeting places for the then League of Right-Thinking People.
(‘right’ as in acceptable/correct/exemplary, which meant left wing politically)

Liked him when he was here, raged when Alex Miller sold him to the jooooot, then he went to Deadco....I remember him running about like a half-wit trying to score while a former team mate was lying on the deck, unconscious, obviously seriously injured, then the defending of his criminality you mentioned, his constant justifying diving.
