Additional info...

I always assumed that Van's Joe Harper Saturday Morning was about Tom Sawyer's pal in the Mark Twain classic. Not so.

I think I found out later that the Joe Harper celebrated in the Van song was a school caretaker/ jannie who gave up his Saturday s to organise sports, games, outings etc for kids in Van's Belfast, before these voluntary magnanimous offers were suspected to be a front for kiddie-fiddling.

He occasionally hired a mini-bus to take the young band members (presumably Them) home as they didn’t have driving licences.
