The conversation that Burrows had with some fan group last week (publicised online, and about which Burrows spat the dummy) revealed that the Timbâstards still want the same coin for Scales as suggested last year, despite the fact that his contract is now a year shorter. Robson apparently said that he’d prefer to have him on the books and eligible for all but four league fixtures than be without him. Hmmmm.Originally posted by TheDeeDon View PostBarry claiming MacDonald an Williams, struggling to be fit for the start of season.
Certainly think we miss the experience of MacDonald to hold it all together along the back.
A deal for Slobodan likely with others to follow.
I would like to see Scales back in a Don's shirt, so hopefully something can be agreed with Timothy.

From what I heard the club are looking to take Scales back on loan because Celtic are reluctant to sell him to another SPFL team.
They just don’t like selling players to other teams in the league because they are paranoid it will come back to haunt them.
As much as I would like us to sign Scales it should only be a permanent deal,we need to stop taking players from them on loan.

I'm open to loans if theres an option to buy built in at the end of the season, think McCrorie came to us that way and it worked out pretty well
But loaning a player from them twice would be ridiculous - it really hurt us last season, apart from missing the games against them its not good constantly shifting your players around to accommodate
I liked Scales but if thats the only way he's coming to us then no thank you - permanent deal or nothing

Totally agree about Scales, providing there are players out there we can actually sign that are the required standard. It's frustrating we're so close to the season with some pretty significant gaps in the squad. Unfortunately we are not in a position to go and just get whoever we want with our budget limitations and the SPFL's place in the pecking order of world football.

We seem to be struggling to get players in
We made approx say 1.5 million for McCrorie, European football should bring in say a conservative figure of 4.5 million.
Season ticket sales up
So far we might have spent say 1.5 million on incoming players
Are we just being to tight with are cash to get decent players in
Don't think we have been so cash rich in years so it's a bit worrying we seem reluctant to spend just that bit extra to get the right players in

The money we receive in fees doesn't just have to cover fees for players we bring it, it also has to pay wages for players.Originally posted by KIWIRED View PostWe seem to be struggling to get players in

Although undisclosed we also would have paid for Clarkson, I'm wouldn't be surprised if that was the biggest fee we'll pay out this Summer. Well worth it to be fairOriginally posted by KIWIRED View PostWe seem to be struggling to get players in

Regardless of how much money we may have, we are still poor relations compared to many clubs, which will have a major impact on who comes to us.Originally posted by KIWIRED View PostWe seem to be struggling to get players in
