    Kind of makes my point.

Tobers is also right footed, same as Ruby, so its not a good balance having those two together.

If anything, the plan must be for Tobers to play alongside the left footed Molloy (granted not right now), so if anything Tobers will replace Ruby, not play with him.

If I was betting though, Id bet that we will be getting another left sided CH in due course too. Maybe not this window, but certainly in the summer.

Just dont see Ruby as Jimmys type of player tbh - clocks ticking for him IMO.
Or, maybe try and train Ruby up to kick with his left foot!? I sometimes wonder, for reasons that should be obvious to our supporters (remember the recent fresh air ?clearance?, for example), if he is naturally left 🦶ed! Thoughts?

          • Ah watched a 7 minute reel o' Tobers fae 2019 .... fkn 5/6 years ago ... and he looks great even at 19yo. Can rise pretty high tae win headers, tackles cleanly and efficiently, makes good decisions quickly and can play a great defence splittin pass. Even if he hisna improved since then, on the evidence of those 7 minutes o' vid, he's a plaaar

There is a picture on Twitter of Gunner waiting outside the Bluebird chipper to collect a fish supper and single macaroni pie last night to get Tobers fed after the press conference.

According to sources he loved the pickled egg that Gunner ordered as an extra.

I also believe it is customary for new players to buy the rowies for after training on their first day.

Well. I had a look at the Grasshopper fan forum.

The consensus seems to be that they are sorry to lose him as he has the sort of attitude that fans like.

But as his contract was up this summer, they reckon they got a good deal.

Grasshopper are struggling- 2nd bottom of the so-called ?super league in Switzerland. 15 points from 18 matches. Last match a win, however, and three draws before that.

Last year, they finished second bottom too- but i believe managed to stay up after a playoff.

So: if they go down this year and we manage to finally win a game again- it will be down to him.

Still haunted by the pic of that substandard footballing abomination Jim McInally with a Dons scarf above his head.

I read the same sort of thing about Anthony Stewartbwhen we signed him, so I no longer trust the judgement of fans of inferior teams.

He will either be a f*cking donkey or a world beater come around 5pm on Sunday.

                        That's how it is now.

No bedding in period to get up to speed with his new surroundings in a new league.

100% this, and that is exactly how it is these days, here's hoping he is ready to hit the ground running at full tilt and come 5pm on Sunday be a local hero.

All the best min and welcome

You are right- I also read a comment on the Grasshopper forum stating that Aberdeen is a beautiful city so he should feel at home.

Well as long as his impression of Union street is derived from looking at the ceiling of the Grill, he should be fine?

It had exited my mind about that one. Your description and accuracy percentage fully on point, although sure 57V could add some embellishment

Bloody Aitken. IIRC it was McKimmie he wanted to swap him with initially before the ?Silky? deal fell through. Unbelievable even if our captain had antagonised half the south stand.

Never liked Aitken because he got rid of my hero Irvine. He?d a not bad start to his managerial career with us but club categorically told the player after his MS diagnosis there was always a place for him at Pittodrie and then Aitken let him go. Aitken was dead to me after that
