Dorrington is of course a class act. So I?d not be greeting if he returned. Just conflicted.
Thing is , Milne desreves more game time. He has played anywhere he has been asked to and done well ?

Hearing hi on pitch interview after the final , he has a clamness and maturity beyond his age.
I was thinking " there is a future Captain".

I believe he started as a midfielder, and could see him playing Beckenbaur style of game. Nominally a third centreback, but moving into midfield when we start an attack ?

    ( I know, it sounds like pretensious *******s !! But am I meringue ? )

I've posted a few times now, that if Milne didn't get injured when he did, he would have cemented his place in the side.

If that had happened though, we wouldn't have taken Dorrington.

I'm not sure if Milne is a midfielder or a defender though, he seems too good with the ball at his feet to waste in defence.

I'll be surprised if he is not a regular in our starting 11 next season.

His brother?s the Maroons? co-skipper. Their Dad Michael - quite the player himself - attends TUHOIPMF and it was his footage of the Craig Reid equaliser v the Tinks a while ago that turned up everywhere. I have his mobile number somewhere if Mrs Mason wants it.

            This generations Neale Cooper maybe.

Except not as nasty . But at 6fy 5 he`s a heck of a useful for corners. And then again, at that height couldn`t see him running about and snapping into to tackles allo ver the midfield ? Beaton & Co would have a field day.

Hence the Beckenbauer comparison. Elegantly cdrifting forward with the ball at his feet. Leaving Cl;arkson to pick it up a bit further up the park .........

( Again , fanciful musings that probably wouldn`t work " on a dreech Tuesday night imid Decmber at Dumbarton. Eh ? )

            • Except for Celtic and Rangers we will spend more money this window than the rest of the league put together.
What I am hearing is Jimmy is going to get well back again and even more than the previous season. I would put an approximation of a spend of ?5m coming this season. ?450,000 already spent so far.

Well done Dave Cormack. He is spending to increase our footballing ability. I for one am grateful.

Not any real surprises in that list and doubt we will see any of the loans back, but who knows.

I'd be tempted to take a punt of Dabbagh. More of a poacher/finisher than the type needed for Thelinball, but just something about the loon I like.

I don't really follow the youth team, but was Blair McKenzie not highly regarded at one point? Think injuries hampered his progress.

I also read today that the Plymouth manager has asked to leave to join Schalke. Not an ideal scenario for Jack.

Dabbagh, on the limited appearances he?s made, appears to be capable of taking chances and his Cup Final penalty was excellent, though I?m not sure that he brings much else to the table. I really think we need a good strong presence up front to hold the ball up, something we really missed on Saturday in the first half till PG came on and made a tangible difference, along with Morris and his pace on the right. PG has a few flicks and tricks to his game but he?s never going to beat defenders with powerful runs and dribbling skills as he doesn?t possess such qualities. Keskinen and Nisbet weren?t able to hold the ball up and we immediately lost possession every time the ball went into their half. Mark McGee, though not the tallest, performed that role really well back in the day. Ambrose is another alternative option but he looks to be overweight and I think he?s one of our poorest ever signings, unfortunately. I think overall that the squad requires most attention in forward areas, especially with Nisbet and Dabbagh departing.

                    • Its been mentioned elsewhere about the possibility of bringing in Ronan Hale from Ross County.

Maybe not a bad shout considering he got 18 goals in 42 games for a relegated side.

I would like to hope we are looking at a better market than a striker who helped get his team relegated in the poor Scottish top league

No thanks to Ronan Hale?Dross County can keep him! .

I don?t really know much about him, but surely a striker who is scoring goals for his team isn?t helping them get relegated!?

                          • Hmmm?. Did we not pick up a certain Bojan Miovski and Ilber Ramadani from a team that was getting relegated???

I wouldnt be particularly happy if he was signed as our first choice striker but he is probably a better option than Sokler and Ambrose as a backup striker.

                              • Ronan Hale is a no brainer for us, if he fancies it of course.
I have read somewhere he fancies a move back down to England, but you never know.

I am sure the attraction of Europe will surely help us on the signings front.

What about the boy Dalby that was with the Jute? Just got released from Wrexham

I'll kick myself for asking this, but bar the defender Quinn, who left us after a few months, have we signed any other player from County?
