Yeah I liked Sokler and would definitely kept him. I would be quite happy to see him up front most games unless the new Serb hits the ground running

Lazetic scored two against Buckie last night. Given his general touch looked decent when he came on during Sundays game, I am quietly confident he will prove to be a shrewd bit of business.

If Sokler was told he was behind Yengi in the pecking order of strikers, then I think most of us would have wanted a move too. Even poor Peter Ambrose must feel a little aggrieved at being behind Yengi.

      • I think Peter Ambrose is going to be loaned out somewhere.
We should be looking to do similar with Yengi. We can easily bring in another striker who would fare much better than him.
You cannot leave Aberdeen and expect to do a round trip via London with half a tank of fuel. That would be utter madness.

        • I think the P & J are trolling Aberdeen fans.

They have an article about the clubs decision to sell Fletcher Boyd and have a highlights video of his Aberdeen goals which has Boyd, the Dog botherer and the latest judas c*nt showing on their site. Gadz!!

          • No doubt Boyd will end up at the huns. They all do.

I don't believe we didn't use him on Sunday because there was a loan lined up. A very bad decision if so. Nisbet was on the pitch for Millwall on Saturday
JT thanking him for his professionalism in his statement. If there was any hint of truth in the rumours he would have said nothing.

"Hungary U-21 winger Denes Vilmos snubbed a potential 1m pound move to Aberdeen in favour of a switch to Kortrijk in the Belgium second tier, according to the player's agent."

Seems like we dodged a bullet there. He's mince.

"But we agreed with him that it would be more beneficial for his development to transfer to a team that is fighting for promotion and plays with a distinctly attacking approach, where he would play every week, rather than try and work his way into the team in the top flight of Scottish football.”
I wonder if that’s the perception of all agents - we’ve a huge squad and don’t play attacking football? J/K… ish…

A million though? Can’t say Dave’s not chucking money at ‘the model’ but the whole point is to get a better team on the park. We need to start seeing that sharpish. Can’t believe I’m saying a game at the beginning of September is a must win or at least a not lose but it’s huge for morale / perception.

                  • Manchester City and Tottenham are looking closely at our 16 year old Cooper Masson, who is on loan at Kelty Hearts.

They want our kids from north of the border, because they can't get the same numbers from the EU now.

No chance we are keeping in kid if an EPL team comes in for them. Could set themselves up nicely, even if they don't make the grade and also a good chance of getting a decent career in the English lower leagues out of it too.

I cant blame these young players for going down to Premier League Academies because its a chance to set themselves up financially and once they get released then they can potentially have a decent career in the lower leagues of England. If they stay with us and get released then they will likely go part time in the Scottish leagues.

I do wonder though if some of the more talented players are wasting their careers by taking that chance. I still think if Calvin Ramsey stayed with us for a few more years and continued to develop he would have still got his big move but as a first team player rather than an academy player.

It depends on how you class wasting their careers.

I know the parents of Jack Grimmer, and he has done all right for himself in England and managed to make a career for himself.

If he had stayed at Aberdeen, would have achieved much more if he had stayed with us longer? I doubt it, would probably be at Cove.

We just seem to be adverse to giving our own young players a chance and reckon it will become even harder in future seasons.

I wouldnt class Jack Grimmer as a really talented player, he definitely has benefited from moving down to England at an early age and has made a decent career for himself.

I was talking more about Calvin Ramsey who was getting game time with us but moved on too soon in my opinion.

If he stayed with us for a few seasons like Scott McKenna did for example he may have had the same career as McKenna has.

To be fair to Ramsey maybe the decision to leave so soon wasnt entirely down to him.

From what I remember, Grimmer was certainly touted as one for the future.
He maybe hasn't set the world on fire, but he has made a good living from the game at a fairly decent level. I think a lot of young players would love to get to that position.

I reckon what you say about Ramsey and his move to Liverpool, not being solely down to him, having a ring of truth, but we did very well out of the deal.

I was hoping that we may have tried to take him back up the road during the summer and see if we could get his career back on track. That loon seemed to have it all. A shame it hasn't worked out for him so far.

Calvin Ramsey is a classic example mate. If he had not had his head turned by funny money and stuck around learning his trade with us I am sure he he would have went on to be a top player both at club and international level. But is it has turned out he is another would be talent that has just disappeared in the the Abyss.

Grimmer on the other hand has maybe done OK but plying his trade in the third tier of the English game at Wycombe fkn Wanderers is just also another example of how sh1te the scottish game has become.
