Sometimes stuff crops up relating to the club with no other thread to throw it in.


Anyways, we have a new Director of Recruitment. Nuno de Almeida is his name and was an Assistant to Jimmy over in Sweden. He has been working as our international scout since Jimmy arrived and replaced Frank Badlan, who was the previous incumbent.

Hopefully he lasts a bit longer than our previous few.

So presumably this guy buggers off when JT does, meaning any new manager will be without a head of recruitment when he comes in a la the Glass era.

Hope behind the scenes bit less shambolic when that time comes.

We've had about 4 in two years, so I'm sure we'll survive IF the worst happens.

Unlike a few on here, I dont trust the club on the matter of a new stadium.

We have a chairman worth approximately ?500 million and investors worth billions. It's not the local council who should have to pay for it, although they could help facilitate with the land.

Should have been sorted years ago and I apportion blame to the baldy, bankrupt builder who should have nothing g to do with our club now.

This is it for me as well. Talk of a 16,000 capacity stadium was ridiculous and you just know it would be an oversized St Johnstone stadium rather than anything creative and imaginative that we would be proud of.

Not news but 11th March they released the findings of the review after the last collapse

At the turn of the year, the Club instructed a football consultancy group, BPTC, headed by Bernhard Peters, to conduct a holistic review of our football operation.

Assist in.. .the addition of a new Technical Director to support the Director of Football.

Far’s our Technical Director?

Surely they would be the person with the oversight to not allow us to go into yet another season with an imbalanced squad.


Wouldn’t have allowed us to have only one RB. And one in his 30s who we are just flogging week in week out.
Wouldn’t have allowed us to have two 33 year olds as our main midfield with one coming straight in after a full season in Norway.
Wouldn’t have allowed us to not have a proven striker on our books.

Would maybe have actually managed our mythical pathway for youth that might have seen some of our kids get a chance. Seen some bloody energy and devil may care attitude into this team. (Disappointed in JT in this respect).


Just get impression behind the scenes as much a shambles as ever. No joined up thinking.
Said it when new recruitment gadgie came in, all well and good he’s Thelins man but when he inevitably goes this boy probably will too and we’re back to square one and new guy on the back foot.


This is not a cue to kick Gunn, not his fault he was promoted without experience and the personal abuse he gets is vile, but we need an experienced football person in.

I’m almost positive he doesn’t. I only brought him up to head off any of the ‘shyte’.

Gunn was appointed as Director of Football Operations, but is now routinely referred to as Director of Football, a r?le previously held by Keith Burkinshaw, 6, and Craig Brown. Gunn has none of those responsibilities, and I?d imagine that Willie Garner now fulfils something of the playing advice and needs at director level. After all, he managed Alloa, was Fergie?s assistant, and most importantly was Keith?s player-manager when we cuffed the horrible Masons in the 1988 Highland League Cup final replay.

Gunn is the equivalent of Ian Taggart, or for the ancients hereabout, Jim Rust ie a souped-up Club Secretary, the need for such souping-up being the huge demands made by every fitba body with whose demands the club has to comply (UEFA?s demands during our last participation were eye-watering). Add in the contracts situation post-Bosman, the visa etc requirements concerning overseas players etc, and it?s one hoor of a gig. The club is at fault for the implication of the careless title by which they refer to him.

He?s also a Red at heart, and makes his ain skirlie.
