  • Cove Rangers v Aberdeen

While the diddy teams are battling it out in the diddy stage of the League Cup for the chance to get pumped by us in the second round, the Dons will be making the short trek to Altens to take on Cove Rangers in a pre-season friendly.

The game will happen on Saturday 12th July with a 1pm kick-off. I fancy the Dons to comfortably win 3-0.

I'm actually going to this one. Was amazed their were tickets, but folk put off due to the opponents.

Never been to their new place before and keen to see the Scottish Cup holders in action again.

They are apparently struggling finacially and had to pay out £105k this week to an ex sponsor, with apparently anothet ex sponsor seeking money from them too.

    Rangers by name...

Hemen .... 12/7 might be fkn Boyne Day, but marchin day ower the years has gotten like fkn xmas .... like it's promoted an' actuated like aboot 4 month in advance.

Ah wis daein a gig in Glesga on 17th o' May ... and there wis a fkn Orange March .... an efterneen gig ... an although there wis nae prob in the venue, some horrible ****e was goin doon in the street ootside ... an' an incident threatenin' the ticket/cash collector on the 'door' ... like .. a door doon a lane an' roon a corner, an' ten yards up a corridor.

Luckily .... if luck wis actually in play, a couple o' auld fat ******* punks were in attendance ... an' proved there was mair tae tak heed o' than their age an' their fat bellies!

Needless to say ... local law enforcement were not summoned

          Game day.

As long as everyone stays injury-free, then I don't mind what the result is.

2-0 to the big club in Aberdeen. Devlin and Palaversa scored.

              Just back.

              What a **** 'stadium'.
We gave them their highest attendance today at 2200.

Richard Gordon is their match announcer.

An training game for us. Hard to take much from it.

All the new boys played (I think)
The Icelandic lad is a unit, he'll have no issue with the physical side of the game here.

Yengi looks decent enough and thought Milanovic looked good too.

Yengi looks like the type of player who would struggle fitness wise, if not getting games.

Adil I think got his first introduction to Scottish fitba and will learn that time on the ball is a luxury
                😂

Was a decent enough couple of hours in the fog though.

                Roll on Ipswich.

Milanovic missed an open goal after some good work by Yengi to set him up.

He will know himself he should have buried it.

I see that Dante and a few others were meanwhile playing Turriff. Not surprised that the likes of Rubezic and R Jensen were in that team, but Sokler and Dante rather stood out.

Jimmy says the lads looked sharp yesterday.

I don't know if he means sartorially or in a football sense. I hope it's the latter.

Well, they were doing the match warm up in what I believe to be a new training top, so it could be the former in your post.

Shinnie was also sporting a VERY dark tan, which might have been a tribute to the late Jimmy Calderwood or former boss Derek McInnes.

The P&J are speculating that they will all be shown the door, along with Ambrose.

Polvara would be the biggest surprise.
