  • Realistic Expectations For The New Season

On paper it looks a big ask to get promoted from this league given some of the clubs we are competing with .

Luton , Plymouth and Cardiff are going to be around the top 6 and all 3 could well go straight back up at the first time of asking .

Wycombe have a few bob to spend and there's Huddersfield and Bolton who will be in the shake up .

I think if we can be in the hunt for a play off place we will have had a decent season but I suspect we will possibly be midtable but hopefully no lower than that but it's a distinct possibility none the less .

I just don't see a surprise season coming our way where we massively over achieve , I'd love to be wrong but I just don't see it .

If we start the season poorly it could be a real struggle to get midtable and I've a bad feeling about our opening game down in Devon .

We could get a real chasing and a tough afternoon .

I think i am going to re address this thread after the transfer window has closed , at the moment we still have our four saleable assets but are short of few additions , if we can get through the window without losing our key players and we all know who they are then I would expect us to be around 8th to 10th , if we sell one or two of them and bring in our usual prospect type signing then I expect much the same as last season ,but as I said I believe there will be some comings and goings in the next 4 to 5 weeks and I will reserve judgement until then.

It'll be mid table again imo. As Shads sez, perhaps better to make a call after end of August.

The almost certain coutgoings of a couple of our big hitters (club debts) will hit us hard and then we may be watching the relegation zone rather than the play off zone.

Hourihane has a very tough job on. He's gonna change the style and formation of play and the new coaches hopefully can have a positive impact.

Yoganathan got excellent praise from the Oldham supporters and young Sheppard can come back stronger and hopefully both of those two promising lads can establish themselves this coming season.

Let's see how the squad looks after the August window.
