  • Romared Match Thoughts Barnsley v Huddersfield Town

I'll manage to catch the first half tomorrow before we set off to Belle Vue to watch Trinity v Huddersfield Giants , quite ironic .

Started well have Town so it looks a tough game but it generally is against the dog botherers .

First of quite a few local Yorkshire derby games this season which will add some numbers, spice and noise in the stadium which is good.

Good luck Lads 3 points please!

Me like you Animal, will be taking the 10 minute walk to Belle Vue for the Wakefield Trinity game also against Huddersfield !!!

A big test for the Reds with Town being a popular prediction for the top two therefore I expect another tight affair but history shows on occasions we do get the better of them at Oakwell and I see no reason why we cannot bag the points today, despite our dodgy defence I will back us to edge it by the odd goal , we will see.

What a cracking day , Reds beat Huddersfield Town 3-1 and Trinity beat Huddersfield Giants 48-2 .

Talking to a lad in the gents at Belle Vue with a Barnsley top on who'd just hightailed out of Oakwell to make the 5.30pm KO at Trinity and he said we'd played very well especially first half and fully deserved the win .

        Onwards and upwards .

          Transfer window dependant.

No losses from 1st team & new centre half and striker essential.

Then we?re in wi a chance before January window.

A good performance and more to the point with two wins this week the Oakwell curse might be lifting , lets hope so . Conor has definitely made a big difference and needs the support and backing of the board to keep it going , I will b holding my breath that we strengthen and not weaken the squad come monday night , we will see .

I went yesterday, long drive but well worth it! The atmosphere was brilliant, it's so nice to see supporters backing Conor and the team again.
From a man they played so well, the fitness levels were off the scale with the pressing and tracking back.
First half we were open a bit at the back leaving the wings exposed as Huddersfield tucked us into the middle, but Shepherd and Earl were outstanding, Watson was my MoM he had there winger all day long!
Once their keeper was sent off, we managed the game superbly! I was so impressed, it's a long season we definitely need more bodies in the building, but if we get a couple of decent players in we are definitely contenders, the feel good factor is really gathering pace, onwards and upwards!

A real test of intent coming up over the next couple of days Shad , we need some additions because as we saw in that first half against Rotherham we haven't too much strength in depth and we most certainly can't lose DKD , Phillips or Connell although that may be out of our hands given the modern game .

Definitely another centre half and a striker in my opinion at least .

I agree with everything you say Animal but we can all remember after getting off to a flyer with a seven goal drumming of Port Vale and optimism lifted only to get our feet firmly put on the floor with the selling of Kitchen at the eleventh hour , so this mob have previous for bringing us down with a bang , lets hope we don"t take another on the chin in the next 24 hrs , we will see !!

Hope we don’t lose any of ‘the big 3’ and get a CB and CF in.
However if we have to lose 1 of them, Phillips would be my preferred option.
I also wouldn’t mind Russell going he looks unhappy. Scored 2 celebrations nil.
Couple of mil each should help balance the books

And wasn't the great Alan Clarke there on the pitch, at half time ?.
He's looking old now is Clarkie lad, but he's still a total legend. 👍 🙂
