  • SBRed Match Thoughts Barnsley v Reading

Hoping for a reds victory and Trinity to beat Hull KR tomorrow evening before we fly out early Sunday morning to the Costa Del Sol .

I'll try and catch the first half from Oakwell before we set off to Belle Vue for a 5.30pm KO .

We managed it the last time against Huddersfield Town and The Huddersfield Giants respectively although I reckon Trinity will have it all to do against KR .

    Fingers crossed .

We flew out of the traps and looked like men against boys until we gifted them a goal. That changed the game a little bit.

Another entertaining home win, we?ve already seen plenty of goals.

Connell was brilliant throughout and my man of match. Shoutout for Ogbeta and Bland too though.

Great to get the win so confidence continues, we played very well in patches, but we can't score 3 goals every game!
I thought Conor would have given Rooney a run out today but stuck with the same defence.
The same thing happens most games, we gift the opposition goals! Last game Ogbeta, this one Cooper!
I say it most weeks but why o why does Earl keep trying to play football on the edge of our area? He does it every game, he was lucky today twice not to lose the ball to their player who would have been in on goal, just whack it away for christ sake!
We are 3rd and have only lost once, so it seems poor to moan, but if we continue to defend this poorly we will come and cropper sooner rather than later.
Ogbeta was brilliant today, but I agree Connell was exceptional and was head over heels MOM.

Another enjoyable 90 minutes at Oakwell , 10 goals and 10 points from the 4 home matches so far, the quality of the football in the first half took me back to the " Brazil " days under Wilson , I loved it but it is never straight forward with the Reds and we gifted them a route back into the game and we eventually got over the line , like everyone else I thought Connel was outstanding with special mentions for Ogbeta who continues to impress and Bland who looks the most promising player to come through the ranks since Holgate , he is a real talent , now on to Blackpool , hopefully we continue to click.

Bland is definitely getting better and better with each game, if he starts scoring we may have a new Redfearn on our hands?
I know it's national league but Dallas has 4 goals in 3 games for Southend now, surely we should have him on our bench as cover, the lad never really got a good shot here, however 3 managers never gave him a go!
