  • Espanyol

I?m in Spain right now and the word is Alan Pace is staying in Barcelona to have a hands on approach with his newest investment. The Espanyol fans are reportedly optimistic about the arrival of Pace and rumours are already abound of an influx of Burnley players. No doubt Benson is already learning Spanish.

It's the influx of Espanyol players into Burnley that interests me, but I am not optimistic.

When we make Europe I hope the multi-club ownership doesn't bite us

I’m going to be writing a full article about the truth of this story but on the face of it Pace has different ownership with separate entities controlling each club. I will be paying serious attention to the Clarets and discuss the rumours that Espanyol are described as the significant club of the group.

Burnley are by far the more significant club in the partnership, as the Premier league is over La Lega. Our turnover will be 10 fold theirs

Espanyol aren't even a big club in Badalon. They are the most insignificant club in Catalonia

Just gone on Google maps and Espanyol don't play in Badalona anymore which is NE of Barcelona, they now play in a 40,000 seater new stadium on the other side of the city. Very impressive I might add, maybe this will give Pace food for thought with a view to relocating BFC to a new stadium.

Anyone any suggestions for the new location?

I lived in Catalonia for four years between 2015-2019 and often passed the Espanyol stadium on my way to the airport.Indeed it is very impressive-nothing like old Turf Moor.

You could see the old stadium when travelling on the train into Barcelona centro from the med resorts in the east.

I always look for the football grounds from sea or air. The one I spot the most when Lanzarote bound, is the Benefica stadium which lies to the west of Lisbon and is visible from the air at 36000 feet.

I would be quite happy if it relocated to Nyon. Nice view of the Alps if the football is cr*p

I think ballcock was moving us towards Padiham not Nyon.

Could we not ground share with Espanyol ? Flights are cheap enough.

No matter what is said it looks like Espanyol is to be the parent club of the various clubs owned by Alan Pace but that infers that Espanyol will retain the main decisions followed by BFC followed by Dundee. This is a worry for our supporters I think Alan Pace should be making some form of statement about how he sees this multi club ownership to work.
