On the very same weekend we meekly surrender to a below par Chelsea a Dyche team that was backed financially thrash Liverpool 3-0.Enough said.We will now witness just what Dyche can do if he is backed by the owners. It should be a look into what could have been.Meanwhile it is looking like we are on our way back back to the Championship under Cardy which I dont mind but to go back It with a whimper hurts.Originally posted by The Bedlington Terrier View PostParker's record shows he is a very good Championship quality manager.
Parker's record also shows he is a very poor EPL quality manager.
It shows.
Get shut.
It may be the case watching Coventry that Lampard would have been a better appointment. They are on fire in the Championship.
Several tin hats needed for me I think.Last edited by ClaretinBudapest; 23-11-2025, 09:34 AM.

After witnessing Everton under Lampard. I can't see what if any evidence that there is to suggest that Lampard would have been a better option than Parker, who got us promotion against all odds after having his team sold before him in August 2024

IÂ’m quite prepared to back this manager if he sorts things out - letÂ’s see what happens when we play teams who are not top6-7.Originally posted by ballcock View PostHere you go again
So who would you replace him with?
For me though if he persists with things as they are weÂ’ll be edging our way to the championship - I completely see that this isnÂ’t easy but a bit more is required in my opinion anyway.

The last time we were in the PL we had a fantastic manager according to lots of fans, however, we were relegated after a start to the season far worse than we are experiencing now. Ah yes, we played, or tried to play attractive football but it did not give us many victories and we were relegated.Originally posted by The Bedlington Terrier View PostBacking football managers with a bad record is a lot like backing horses with a dicky finish ratio, ask sinkov - losers never win.
Perhaps we can swap with Espanyol? Manolo Gonz?lez is highly rated. Mind you, Parker did not exactly go down a storm in Belgium so that seems unlikely.
The manager did okay though because he went on to Germany etc., etc.
We now have a managed who had the rug pulled from under his feet when he came in last season, however, he still gained automatic promotion without spending anywhere near the amount spent by VK. He has guided us to three wins so far this season and we have had a hard start and had a nnumber of decisions go against us. However, he is still working hard with the team to try to get us going in the right direction and with a little bit of change in fortune we could achieve that.

We are doing much better in this league than during our season with VK but are not doing as well as in the halcyon days of Sean Dyche. Our fixtures in the run up to Xmas see us visit Brentford, Newcastle and Bournemouth with home games v Palace and Fulham. We really need to pick up 7 points from that run of games. I do think Parker needs to change things up front for us. Anthony needs to drop to the bench.

Pace I reckon knew from past history Parker would in all likelihood get us out of the Championship first bounce. Now Pace is distracted with Espanyol no one at Board level will remove Parker from his post. Meanwhile, we will have to put up with watching a giraffe trying to graze on Turf Moor.

Perhaps we should just go and support Leeds, they lose with panache which is what our fans seem to want.
Strange thing is that we have picked up more points in the last 7 matches and scored more goals than Leeds.
We can't compete with the ultra defensive Sean Dyche though because, in four PL matches he has picked up more points than both the above teams and scored 8 goals in those 4 matches as opposed to Leeds 7 in 7 and our 9 in 7. I wonder which of these three teams will have the best chance of reamining in the PL?
