  • undue pessimism?

On one hand Its exciting to be back in the Prem, we have signed Kyle Walker!!!

On the other hand, we really struggled scoring goals in the Championship. We relied on Brownhills goals who has gone and we have made Cullen who last time out was found lacking strength and pace the captain. While loosing our goal keeper. We have handed Foster the number 9 shirt, who really has not shown enough from last season or been any where nearly consistent enough in all the years her has been here.. handing him the number 9 really shows we are not looking to buy a striker.

So last years goals where from Brownhill, and we have lost a centre back and a keeper... and we are in the Prem.
I have real PTSD from last time, watching us loose 90% of the season... I really want us to have learnt lessons from last time..

    Am I being to Pessimistic?

Right now I'm not full of my usual misguided optimism. Seriously, right now I wouldn't take 50/1 on us staying up.

Not optimistic about the opener v Spurs as we have a bit to go before we have a settled squad, due to arrivals and departures.

But what does give me some optimism is that we have a better man at the helm, and not a headless chicken.

Yes, we certainly do have a better man at the helm. however, if things don't go according to plan, will he be given the same chance as VK was given?
Or if we get relegated ---will SP be managing at Real Madrid or PSG next year? Asking for a friend.

Der Kaiser did well at Munich last year but there are mumblings of discontent in Bavaria about the new season's recruitment process.

Feeling better about things now with our 2 new signings.

I think by the time we play Sunderland in late August we will hopefully be up and running.

Both Ugo and Dubravka or buys. I believe we have room for a couple of loans

Assuming Broja, Dubravka and Ugochukwa all sign, we might have given ourselves an outside chance of escaping the drop. I can see Hladky being moved on along with quite a few others now.

Ugo looks class, can't see Captain Cullen getting a game

I think that a player who has played 144 games since signing for us in July 2022 may well be playing a few more games this season.
Always puts a shift in and doesn't hide.
