Whereas Sunderland have a right go, get in front and work hard to stay in it, we try to stay in it, don’t and then we are looking to try to equalise. Time to change that policy, cos everyone has had their fill of it.Originally posted by ClaretinBudapest View PostIt will be criminal if Broja,Edwards and Tresor do not start next time out but it will be typical Cardy if he waits until we go behind to bring them on.
Keep Broja fit, hopefully his injuries are behind him, and we have a proper striker.

I think for broja heÂ’s been obviously unlucky with injury but he scored 9-10 goals for Southampton in the Premiership on loan 3-4 years back and heÂ’s still a young man who could become successful yet.Originally posted by wmdave_b View PostWhereas Sunderland have a right go, get in front and work hard to stay in it, we try to stay in it, donÂ’t and then we are looking to try to equalise. We are sometimes judgemental on here and state heÂ’s a donkey and why did we pay what we did.
However reality says £20 million simply isn’t much money even if it seems a lot for us and a gamble but if he scored 10 goals for us this year not only would his value increase but we may survive and get the premiership money another year.
Hopefully his goal will
Instal confidence and Burnley will benefit - I hope that we can actually create chances for him otherwise the doom and gloomers on here will write him off and heÂ’ll disappear in to the abyss.

You have played the beautiful game army88, it's amazing how a bit of confidence can change a player's fortunes. He's bound to score against Everton.Originally posted by army88 View PostI think for broja heÂ’s been obviously unlucky with injury but he scored 9-10 goals for Southampton in the Premiership on loan 3-4 years back and heÂ’s still a young man who could become successful yet.

Certainly I had him down as a “donkey” based upon his two starts. Obviously, I was being harsh in making that judgment. If he could get some decent service, as he did from Edwards, then he could well put a few away.Originally posted by army88 View PostI think for broja he?’s been obviously unlucky with injury but he scored 9-10 goals for Southampton in the Premiership on loan 3-4 years back and he?’s still a young man who could become successful yet.

The trouble is that Cardy is not setting up the side to provide that service. Flemming, when he plays, is mostly between the half way line and their box, with no one in support to feed off him. When he does get into the box, the ball in either doesn’t appear and ends up back with Dubravka, or the cross is poor.
The same was true of Broja until Edward’s go involved.

Moyes will be all over the big ball delivery and set pieces as it’s our Achilles heel and their strength- Tarky - Kean - Beto - Barry - DiblingOriginally posted by Swissclaret View PostCertainly I had him down as a “donkey” based upon his two starts. All giants in comparison to us -
Hope we can get Broja some service as you say.

Need our biggest strongest lads on for that battle Dave, you’re bang on right. Worrall a must, Ekdal also fine, cos they lack pace and quality down the middle. Set piece wise those threats you mention are a big worry. Don’t concede any needless corners. I would start Flemming maybe, though won’t get much change from Tarks. Broja come on later?Originally posted by army88 View PostMoyes will be all over the big ball delivery and set pieces as it?’s our Achilles heel and their strength- Tarky - Kean - Beto - Barry - Dibling

That's me Army, I've seen enough of him to make a judgement, he's a player I've taken an interest in since he appeared on the scene at Chelsea, must be 5/6 years ago now, so it's not a judgement I've made on scant evidence. His scoring record is abysmal, just nine PL goals in 87 appearances for Chelsea, Southampton, Fulham, Everton and Burnley.Originally posted by army88 View Post

One headed goal against Bournemouth doesn't turn him into a thoroughbred and in horse-racing terms I wouldn't back him to win a seller at Catterick, never mind the Epsom Derby. If he does disappear into the abyss it will be because he isn't good enough and hasn't scored enough goals. It will be nowt to do with anything the doomers and gloomers on here write or say about him.
Incidentally army, Aldi have a Chablis Premier Cru for 14.99, it's a belter, I'm going back for some more tomorrow, I'd happily pay a tenner more for it.

I hope the lad proves us all wrong mon ami and I'm just getting my coat on to nip down to Aldi.Originally posted by sinkov View PostThat's me Army, I've seen enough of him to make a judgement, he's a player I've taken an interest in since he appeared on the scene at Chelsea, must be 5/6 years ago now, so it's not a judgement I've made on scant evidence. Worrall has to start alongside Esteve against Everton who has lacked an experienced Centre half playing alongside him. Everton will batter us on set pieces were we are weak, lets hope Worrall gives us some grit that Ekdal lacks.
Anthony must be droped the lad is presently a liability and I would look at giving Edwards and Broja a start, as we need some creativity or just hang up the white flag, surrender and settle for lower league football, with a championship manager
Last chance saloon for Parker, if he doesn't deliver against these and the Mags he's a gonna for me. He wouldn't have a job by now if he managed anyother Premier League side, so what makes Burnley any different?

Pace was very open in his admission that he listened to outside voices and delayed sacking Dyche.
I doubt that he would make same mistake so I am guessing that if the Board wanted to go that route but didn’t, it will be because of the lack of funds that would be due to Cardy.
As it is we got a point against Bournemouth, so that will have bought him some time. However, if he starts with the same line up, it starts to become the definition of madness.
