Esteve and Worrall both not playing, so I guess injured. Humphries comes in for Worrall and plays alongside Ekdal.

We are going to get trashed on set pieces with those 2 in central defence.

    I fear for us today

I thought Humphries did well and Ekdal was Ekdal.Pires put in some good crosses. It is the forward players especially JBL then Flemming that let the side down today.

It was weird ballcock like Tarky and Keane instructed not to attack balls in the box - they were poor and we were also consistently poor.
We need far too much time - build up is slow and we play All our football in front of teams

They’ll love coming here to play us

I have not been able to watch games this season, but managed to see the end of first half and all of second half this time. To me we played quite well second half, but they all seem frightened to make a shot, and choke when they come one on one and can?t pass it to a teammate? I applauded the Cullen change, not his injury, and I think Parker needs to take off the handbrake and just set us up more to attack. We?ve become too defensive minded. Have they been given the stick a lot lately? If they have it?s not helping anyone. We need to support them.

For the third game in a row we had a different pairing at centre back and they did well. We became more of an attacking proposition
when Cullen was replaced, did SP notice? Though Edwards got caught a few times he is well worth his place. I would like to see Pires moved up to midfield and Humphries brought in at at lwb. Shooting from the edge of the box is poor and like most techniques could be improved with practice but never is. Not a bad result though, we did miss two good chances but Dubravka made some brilliant saves
to keep us in the game. A few touches from Tresor suggests there is a quality somewhere but ???
I've not given up hope yet but if we don't put more balls into areas where it counts it's hard to see where goals are going to come from.

It’s a conundrum Mnhrt however we are so slow in build up that teams are very rarely troubled with our offensive ( people will slag Broja off ) but in his defence he ran and offered but received very little service.

We have a midfielder playing right back who with respect is out of his depth at this level and is prone to switching off or silly mistakes.

We have a winger starting games that tells his full back behind him not to give him the ball on numerous occasions and offers very little offensively.

We have a captain who 90% of the time would rather go sideways and back than be forward thinking ( I like Cullen tbh ).

We have consistently different centre backs even without AFCON - we have strikers asked to play out wide instead of wide players ( must be frustrating for Foster - and also for Anthony ).

We have wide men who don’t like to get hurt won’t compete for headers and refuse the ball don’t go in behind the opposition.

We have better players on our bench than starters and we carry on with the same discipline from game one against spurs.

Parker I’m afraid has his favourites he also is out of his depth technically imo at this level

It’s the first time I’ve ever been in the last ten years ( premiership / championship) where the bench has better options than those playing with the exception of a cup tie lower level opponents.

Either we need rid of Parker and someone who can see how to piece the team together and has a style of playing that isn’t over cautious or we need this manager to pick the strongest 11 and get a tune out of them or we are doomed .

I watch sometimes and think there is hope but we slip backwards again when selections change and formations that just don’t suit us

I think we need a change at the top but if Parker stays it will be a frustrating 19 more games for me and all clarets fans .

Positives last night were Bashir and tbf to him his first competitive match in months was a triumph really and Edwards who for me offensively tried to make things happen ( yes he gets caught once or twice in possession but you have to accept that against his creative side ).

I know I moan on about Hannibal and he’s AFCON and banned but he’s the most gifted footballer and forward thinking footballer at our club and it seems to me Parker can’t control his aggression or attitude and benches our best option every week, to me Parker’s remit is to get the best out of him - I would t say. A word if there were others who are picked that do a better job.

Sadly for me Parker’s biggest mistake to date is not sorting out Hannibal.
