  • Letting runners go

This happened so many times in the game its criminal - you could argue their better footballers ( if your Parker you could anyway )

I’m willing to bet if you asked Dyche he’d say you could teach monkeys to not do this , it’s the absolute basics at this level of football I actually feel a bit sorry for the defence as they constantly have two players centrally in front of them and two wide who think it’s someone else’s job.

These are professional footballers supposedly coached by a trainer / manager where it never changes every week at one point in the game ugo and floerntino were so deep that when Ugarte looked for Utd there was 60 yards to go into so from the edge of Utd box to ours in 3 seconds un opposed ( that’s how you lose football matches )

The only positive for me last night was Hannibal’s return and Edwards and maybe Esteve ( he wasn’t afforded much proper protection tbh ), and Humphrey who looked like he cared,

Our set up is all wrong to stay in this league I’m losing faith in even going on to watch

Incidentally if we’d played a decent team last night we’d have got murdered Utd for all their so called stars - barely better than us.

Florentino plays too deep, constantly gives the ball away and does not have a goal in him and this standard is week in, week out. Does Parker actually do analytics?

Tbf Bt him and Ugo get caught but they look to give the ball and because the pass isn’t on ie people aren’t offering in spaces or basically to go forward instead of Sideways or backwards.

I do think they don’t really know which way they’re playing - Florentino strikes me as a player who needs to be told what to do - not left to his own devices.

And as I posted on another thread the gap is so big between our midfield and forwards at Times it’s no wander they concede possession , worryingly though our midfield do not pick up runners that includes pires who is ok going forward but doesn’t show much interest chasing back.

The whole thing is fubarred it’s run like a pub team imo.

When you look at successful teams who survive in the PL, they mainly have settled sides. Parker seemingly has no idea who are the best 11 and here we are 20+ games into the season. He has consistently played some who are not PL standard. I include Walker in that, despite his experience. I think Robert’s or Sonne would offer more but they do not get a look in.

It is clear to me that Humphries, Hannibal and Edward’s offer more creatively. Broja, Flemming and Foster can score with service. What we have seen of Tr?sor is that he is creative too. What we have seen is Parker favouring players who have shown very little quality.

It is either incompetence or fear Swiss. He is a decent chap looking at his interviews but what is quite clear is that he is way too cautious and the 9-0 drubbing he got in front of the whole world whilst at Bournemouth which ended up getting him sacked has left its mark on him.He also gets far too emotional-he was waffling about how much he loves the players in his most recent interview and appeared to be on the brink of gettiing watery eyed..

I agree CiB - he is too cautious. Time and time again we show promise. The link up between Hannibal and Humphries created the first goal by opening up Maan Ewe. We can do it. Then we go into reverse as if we can defend a 1 goal lead for 80 minutes. Why do we not go for the jugular, press home the advantage and try to get a second?

The answer has to be Parker.

My other big gripe is why do we not play FRONT FOOT FOOTBALL?

Maybe that 9-0 whacking left its mark but playing for draws will not get us out of the mess we're in. Two minutes to go we had 3 chances to put the ball into the UTD box but chose to play it safe. I thought Edwards was outstanding, if he doesn't request it he should not be substituted. I wish UGO would realise that sometimes you simply have belt it out of there. There being the crowded edge of our box. He's almost got us into a mess several times.
Has SP decided on the best eleven yet? Too early to tell ?????

The times I shout "ENGAGE" live at a Parker coached Clarets match makes everyone around me giggle. Can anyone on here seriously imagine Brian O'Neil or Joey Barton allow an opposition midfielder the freedom of the park? Luke Shaw on Wednesday almost ran the entire length of the middle of the park three times before either Humphreys or Esteve engaged with him. It's bonkers!

Army88 you are 100% spot on, does Parker actually coach this team?

We definitely wont get beat 9-0 under Parker but does it matter in the end if his cautious approach gets us relegated anyway.I honestly think the previous PL season under VK was more enjoyable than this dross. Can you imagine VK time wasting in the last 5 minutes if we are 9 points from safety.
